without sounding ignorant did you even read my first post ?

who ever buys it will be the 2nd owner, serviced at the correct intervals as per service book ,not due the belts yet and never had any probs with suspension , my mrs used it to get to work and go shopping dont think shes revved it past 5krpm in all the time shes owned it .

If you bought it in Sept 2005 then the belts are due within the next 17 days ! But I notice you are getting the service and MOT done prior to sale, that will be painful if you want to keep your full dealer service history intact. IMO the price is fair if the service/belts are done; good luck with the sale.

With the greatest of respect I think your price is VERY optimistic without a new cam belt and damper re-furb.

I know as I've just sold mine with similar mileage, I had to take a serious reality check as to its market value.

Having said all that I hope you prove me wrong and get your asking price.

Compared to what else is out there, a good T is still very under-priced.

Car is booked in for the belts, service and MOT tomorrow , i see 1's with 60k for £6500 on autotrader ,that and the fact its a rare car up here , i think ive seen 1 other on the road in the 5 years ive had it . Personnally i think its a steal at that price ,but if it doesnt sell ill just keep it

mines is low milage ,and also has the private plate which has got to add to the value , its costing over £700 for the belts service and mot , as for the shocks ,if they are not leaking why would they need to be refurbed? its not on the service schedule to refurb them :?

Well I was going to buy Matts (well made an offer on his - to which it eventually sold for - his had 30000 miles - I have now seen this one and yet another one for sale - with similar mileage ... I am willing to make an offer on both - If you could send over photos to my email I would appricate it - If the belts are done and MOT passed for another 12 Months ... then I may make a cheeky offer. Cheers.

Does your price include the plate - and the service cost & belts and Mot - if so could be tempted....

As for the one with 60k on the clock for £6500 - thats auto trader and that guy/girl is dreaming...

There's 003 for sale for £5500 with 50k on clock.

I am interested thou - got this one and another one now to see and offer on.

Not much point making an offer the price is £7650 and ill not be dropping it especially after the cost of the service /belts, Ill be getting it a valet so will put pics up after that

Probably setting myself up to be attacked again but what is the massive obsession with the damper refurb? if they aren't leaking then why do them?

I spoke with some dutch guy at the renault sport specialist garage in pollockshaws in glasgow and he advised that if the shocks are not leaking there is no need to refurb them .

Ive called every renault dealer in central scotland today compairing prices for getting the timing belt kit done along with a service and mot , the results are actually quite scary .

with my local arnold clark dealer being the most expensive with a quote of £1140 ,when i laughed i was told i could get a discount and they would do it for a £1000 =D>

another arnold clark dealer 10 miles away quoted £720 for the same job ???

there must be alot of peeps out there getting ripped off by these monkeys ,makes me angry
A local garage with very good rep quoted me £270 for supplying and fitting the belt kit , £110 for the service and £44 for the mot ,using all genuien renault parts :D

the timing belt kit is £160 and the aux belt kit is £130 which is £290 just for the parts. you do know that special locking tools are required for this job? so how on earth he quoted £270 is beyond me.

as for the suspension, you cant see gas leaking. also, salt attacks the rubber seals and they perish. best way to check if suspension problem is to do heavy braking, should stop in striaght line, any corkscrewing and suspension re-builds required

Tbh, if you're getting knocked back on all these offers maybe you'll have to accept either you can't afford a Trophy, or have to up what you're willing to spend.

As for the car in the post. I've had my dampers done and before I did I had them checked out by a few garages, whom all said they were fine. When I had them rebuilt the guys at BG checked them and said one had lost some gas and not compressing at the same rate. At the time, the handaling was pretty bad. Since the refurb the improvement has been dramatic.
