    Faulty Temp sensor??

I had this a few times when I first had the Trophy. They replaced the sensor which didn't fix it, then found the the way in which the cable us run isn't ideal. They replaced the sensor again and re routed the cable tying it to part of the engine along the way. It's been 100% sorted ever since.

Full Fat Clio 182 rear bench

That's a picture I posted a while back. That's a test mule made up to see how it would look.

    Trophy baiting on CS

Amazing really. They've stuck with a tried and tested formula of an excellent chassis, light weight and good power to weight ratio. Everyone else has lost the plot with loads of power, weight and poor chassis. Okay so the 197 doesn't quite fit that ethos 100%, but it still feels every bit a...

    Trophy baiting on CS

Well said that man. The only other car I've owned and enjoyed as much as the Trophy was my 306 GTi-6. Another hot hatch benchmark. I'd not be swapping the Trophy if it weren't for the fact I like new cars, warranty and do far to many miles to make keeping it sensible. It looks like I'm...

    Trophy baiting on CS

Why would I put the Trophy down? I own one. First one on the road after the press...007. I just think sometimes people on one car forums, or even one make forums, get very short sighted about the car they drive. All I'm saying is the 172 Cup is a better car than some of you guys are...

    Trophy baiting on CS

172 Cup. The 182 Cup is just a cheaper 182, nothing special. If someone refers to a Cup there's only one in my mind, the 172 Cup. A serious drivers hot hatch. The 172 Cup was something special in terms of how it handles. Trophy owners need to get over themselves at times and realise...

    Trophy baiting on CS

The comment about the Cup is pretty fair. It's certainly a better drive than most of the range. The Trophy and Cup do handle very similar. The Trophy generates better grip and traction but I'd still put money on a Cup changing direction better. That weight loss really is noticable.

    The Original Owners Thread

Still got 007. Now on 33k. Just holding out for the 197 Cup then it's gone. Although I'm half tempted to sell it now and get something to run around in for a while.

How many trophy owners have owned renaultsports before?

I had an 03 172, then an 04 182 with Cup packs, then the Trophy.

    Trophy Evaluations...

I have a Mk2 172, 182 with Cup packs then the Trophy. Personally I think the 182 with Cup packs was a better all rounder. The Trophy is superb when you are in the mood, but on the days you aren't in the mood it's a bit tiring. Handling wise the best of the bunch are the 172 Cup and...

1/43rd Scale model of the Trophy

I'll have one if you can get it sorted. Maybe 2. While you are at it I want a replica numbered plaque with 007 on the base that the car is on too.

    Number 500 For Sale (again)

For once the VIN numbers and actual car numbers were in order of when they came off the line. That's how I got 007. Unlike the V6 which were numbered when they came into the country.

    Clio Trophy Development shots

I've just found this image. Being really sad I wondered how it would look (at the time it wasn't known as the Trophy, just the ultimate Clio), seeing as I'd decided to not get a CTR and wait for one, so I knocked this up in Photoshop one afternoon. Thank god my PS skills have improved. lol

    Clio Trophy Development shots

As far as I know it wasn't destined to have them anyway, due to it being based on the Cup. I'm not sure if that car was driven a great deal or not, I think it was more for the visual tuning. When I was first told about the Trophy I was told, based on the Cup, one colour (not confirmed at the...
