Hi Lee, check out retroplates. They can make them for you providing you give them all the detail you want on the plate.
They are on instagram, if you need some inspiration.
Thanks for the background @GPH as well as an honest appraisal. Always great to hear some insights of having a fleet around like this.
I genuinely look forward to reading your insights into the birth of the trophy. I recall you planning to share this with us at some point (eagerly waiting:))...
Peetee, glad its finally happened that you’ve come to own one of the best hot hatches ever made and that ever will be. You won’t have any regrets!
Look forward to seeing the progress, I know for a fact you will look after it whilst having an absolute hoot of a time.
Niceee, I do love a saffron. Its actually a P2 V70R in Sonic blue pearl, on paper its such a medicore car for stats (mines running about 350bhp) but there is something about it which I just love.
I think I’ve just got a swedish bug!
Matt,
was an absolute pleasure to meet you. Your car is in safe hands and I know it will be sad to see it go but I know for a fact that Peetee will chuck you the keys and let you drive it whenever you wish. Couldn’t have gone to a nicer guy.
Nice to see the variance in everyone elses collection!
Along with the trophy I have a
Mk2 golf gti
M140i with Birds B1 chassis upgrades
E39 M5
Volvo V70R
They look like they’ve been replaced at some point?!
Would like to buy a set of replacement rear springe also, given I already have new front springs and rear dampers.
Yeah I completely understand, good that you have a copy over different forums too in case on them suddenly closes down!
You’re right, non-trophy cars are just as fantastic - the fact you say that coming from a Cayman R speaks loud words for sure albeit being cars from different categories.
Couldn’t agree more.
Over the years, they’ve always received high praise in EVO magazine too.
Also Frayz, I’m big fan of your thread on readers cars that I’ve been following since the beginning mid last year. Very inspiring, especially what you done for rust proofing etc
I’ve been a fan for a number of years and always wanted one. Last June I nearly put a deposit on one then chickened out.
Put a wanted ad up a few months ago and hey I’m picking mine up tomorrow !
Fantastic - if you're looking for something to seal the arches/sills and suspension with I can highly recommend the Bilt Hamber range. Really impressive and easy to use. Best of all if you use their Dynax UC it leaves a clear-ish waxxy finish unlike products like the classic Waxoyl which I find...
Wow that looks cracking!
Do you think you will get round to doing the underside/arches? It would make for good preventitive maintenance against rust on the arches/sills.
Thanks @jarjarmustdie but yes as its a category D it wasn't one I'd consider, plus as others have said its been priced rather strong considering there are few bits that need doing on it.
Running a car like this (or any performance orientated car) on non-premium tyres is a shame tbh. Surely would...
