    Alternator Help!

Hello All I have a 182 Trophy that has a faulty alternator. It’s a Valeo 110A unit. I’m told by my local dealership that this is not available as an exchange unit and quoted £394 plus Vat for a new one which will have to come from France. Can anyone recommend another unit that will work reliably?

    Problems starting

I’ve had problems with my alarm over the past month or so following the fitting of a new tracker. Consiquently resulting in the battery running flat. After fitting a new battery - suspect the alarm problem may have been voltage drop on old battery - the car won’t start. When the key is turned...

    Engine Diagnostic help

I wonder if anybody can help me? The engine in my Trophy sounds rough on tickover and when cold occasionally the engine warning light flickers or appears on the dash for a few moments. I've had the engine checked on a diagnostic - specifically the injectors - and it appears to be running fine...

New owner - some help needed

Update. I've had a few problems with a piston sticking on a front caliper. Also I've noticed some ( a little ) fade after heavy track use which is not uncommon for a road based car ( am running racing fluid and high carbon discs BTW). I boxed up the original calipers and sent them off for a...

I took the trophy out for a hoon on Saturday around the snotty/greasy lanes of Suffolk. The speed that the car carried through corners and the poise/body control really surprised me. Each time I drive one of these little cars I it delivers a level of engagement and reward that only the very best...

I've just fitted the speedline corse wheels and Toyo R888 tyres. The sticky compound combined with the higher sidewall provides more grip combined with more feel and progression as you reach 10/10ths. This makes things easier on the track also. For me, it makes a very good car even better...

New owner - some help needed

Picked the car up from CTR Motorsport yesterday and dropped it off at the paint shop. It is still running on it's old tyres but even so, the chassis had a decent balance and the brakes were very adiquate for occasional track use - we are using the same fluid that we run in the 997 Cup car. Set...

    HELP! Damper top seal

Hi eveybody. I am currently having my front dampers refurbed at BG and aparently there is a nylon/rubber top seal missing on one of them. They tell me that they are no longer a part that is offered by Spax. Does anybody know of a source for replacement? Kindest Steve

Thanks Sharky. Thought so. Once youve done the brakes, tyres and geo, there tends to be diminishing reward in terms of performance in my experience - providing the shockers are reasonably decent. -1 - 1.5 neg camber is fine. We run up to -4deg on the 997 cup. It's quick but very sharp. Not the...

Thank you Philfree. Thank you for your advice. Can I ask, are you meaning negative and not positive camber front and rear? Good advice regarding the Harness mounts. Sharky. Thank you. In answer to you question, the car will probably mainly be driven by my other half who does have some track...

New owner - some help needed

To report back. i have spoken to a very nice chap at Pure Motorsport who advised that only a front disc and pad material change along with the obligatory racing brake fluid change was neccessary on the Trophy. In essence, he explained that there are other modifications that can be done to make...

Thank you for the response gentlemen - much appreciated. This forum is a great source of information. I'm a 911 specialist so driving a FWD car makes a refreshing change. The Trophy will also be a great car for my other half to get some track experience in. A track modded 911 is not a...

New owner - some help needed

Hello everybody, I am a new owner of a Trophy. The car is generally in good order but I intend to spend some time tidying it to bring it up to a very decent condition. I come from a motorsport background and intend to occasionally track the car so incorporated in the build will be some prudent...
