There are always pro photogs taking pics there, i have links to about 30 sites ;)
Those pics Luke posted are from Jochen(frozenspeed), he doesn't upload his tourist day shots, you have to email him dates and reg and he'll see if he has any.
Looking damn good :D
Got a few pics of yours(10+ actually)
etc
If you want the full res full quality versions you'll have to send him a small donation via paypal.
One 55 reg and one T6PHY. Spoke to the former breifly!
Looked like you were both having fun.
Should have plenty of print quality pics of both out on track if you're interested. Think my mate wants a bit of pocket money for them, damn students lol
Kinda wish i'd taken my trophy for the drive...
I notice the horrible back seats every time i look at the car. Everything about a trophy is high spec, they fit lovely leather and alcantara recaros but then nasty cloth rear seats without headrests. I'll remove the isofix crap to even out the weight.
And it's a daily driver, i'm not fussed...
I hate the cup rear bench and want something a bit nicer looking.
I presume the 172 & 182 leather seats will fit straight in? Guess that as with most cars, the split/fold system has a bit that bolts to the car where the seats split, is there provision for all of this?
Which seats match the...
I'm with direct line, about £800/yr but that's without no claims as that's used up on my other car, would be about £500 with my no claims on the policy.
If modifying i'd stick with flux/HIC/green light
Off topic i know but woah Andy_dea, blast from the past, i remember the days when you spent ludicrous amounts on making an anthracite 106 shell, had the full DP turbo kit and sold up, that would have been an awesome car! :D
I would make sure the car is driven once a month really, even if it's for 5 mins. Or at least roll it forwards/backwards a foot and run the engine for a while.
When you restart the engine the oil film will have left all surfaces long ago, not that bad but it's not good either.
Tyres will...
So many different reasons i'm guessing!
I bought mine as a daily driver to replace a boring VAG TDi barge. I have always loved french hatches, the handling balance and the way they handle bumpy roads is unrivalled by jap crap and german barges. Trophy specific, i always have to have good...
So far i've not acheived below 37mpg on a tank in my trophy, that's for driving to work on twisty a roads with a gridlocked town in the middle of my journey and a load of junctions etc. This is measured not using the OBC readout, although amazingly the computer readout is only 1mpg out, which...
I've driven the 197 on the ring, i can tell you straight up that the 197 shows it's lack of low down power much more than the 182 does, as it's a heavier car. It definitely needs the 2.0 turbo to really be a step up from a 182.
Also the handling, brilliant as it is, isn't quite on a par with...
23 at the mo, soon 24. Picked up my trophy a few weeks ago and love it :D
8th car, past includes: Citroen AX, 3 saxos, an E30 318iS(poor mans M3), 106 xsi & fabia vRS. Always keep cars i like for ages(had my vts for 4 years) and the other cars have been runabouts or dedicated track cars, had 4...
you need a track compound tyre or they will overheat. depends how quick you are around there, how hard on the car you are and what the weather's like i guess. someone on their first trip should have no probs with road tyres doing one or two laps at a time.
Took my trophy in for warranty repairs.
They've replaced my centre section on warranty but the exhaust still rattles a bit, much better and seems to perform a bit better. They also replaced the mirror which was buggered but wouldn't replace the ecu bracket or n/s wishbone saying they aren't...
We'll see how it fairs next week after some machine polishing. I'm sure it is a key mark due to the shape and location, and the fact that i was parked next to my bosses car and there was no space on the other side, and i always walk around my cars before getting in due to previous vandalism...
I'm going to avoid respraying it at all costs, as you probably know almost any defects can be removed if you know someone who is handy with a machine polisher and has the right pads and compounds, booked me in next week for a session, i'm confident it can be sorted, was going to get him to do...
Pics don't really show it that well:
When i got home:
After a quick few goes with some meguiars polish:
It's not noticeable from standing next to it now but it's clearly still visible up close, although there is no white showing now thankfully. Things are looking hopeful, think my mate...
Somewhere between getting to work and going home someone has keyed the n/s rear quarter of my lovely trophy :(
It's not too deep so i'm hoping that once i get my mate over with his paint depth gauge, udm, makita etc, he'll get it out and make it look like new! It's a large car park just for our...
Yeah one of Rons, well i rented it from dale. It had silver wheels so i'd guess it was a full fat? Although i was told they are cups. The 197 is too underpowered for a car so heavy. The suspension is too soft for track work too but then it is a road car so it's expected really.
Cue - No.427...
About 13 miles btg i seem to remember. Either way, you'd have to be going flat out on a TF day to get close to 8:30 on road tyres. I got just over 9 mins in a rented 197 FF on ruined tyres with quite a few hold ups. Obv with a £6000 excess i wasn't going flat out(Edit: That and it was the...
