They seem pretty good, obviously the pads are colour coded for their strength/hardness. I've got a load of sonus pads here. I hit my 1995 cherry red 106 with a sonus pad originally and it seemed to restore it pretty well, The bonnet is suffering though. not sure it's saveable!
That's a 3M pad. I've got an assortment including a smaller backing plate and smaller pads for the tighter areas.
The G220 is a good machine for a beginner. Plenty of places sell the makita http://www.autogeek.net/ma927po.html
Portsmouth is an hour and a half from here. There are plenty of...
I wouldn't shell out for a random orbital personally Ben, i would go straight for a full rotary makita, but then it's a MUCH more dangerous process, you need to get a depth gauge, get a feel for how much you can do without burnishing the paint too much etc. Luckily one of my best mates is a...
I could be persuaded to do some other trophies probably.
I'm unsure whether i've got a job to go back to at the moment, will find out soon, if i don't then i have loads of time to mess with other peoples cars!
Black turinis on a s*xo, those were the days before they got the chav image. That guy had 18 sets of wheels on that car, he was more of a wheel whore than i am!
Over 860 miles too, so not just one tank. Being honest, i very rarely get less than 380-400 miles between stops for petrol. I do enjoy myself too, just in the right places at the right times!
Anyway, the continuation...
Well after last nights rain i sulked for a bit, then i wondered why the...
They are much better than compbrake IMO, i've seen some shocking stuff made by compbrake.
My hispecs were faultless and i've fitted loads of sets. Only complaints have been disc problems on heavier cars.
You would need new mounting brackets which just bolt on, new hoses & the correct discs for...
Cheers!
I'm not overly impressed so far, i think it's too hot even when working in the shade or when cloudy to get good results. That and the UDM isn't great, much prefer a rotary but i don't have access to one currently. Some small scratches were completely corrected with a few extra passes...
It's been a while since i've taken some photos of number 427.
I have also been neglecting the paintwork but as i've been loving driving it again recently my love has been reignited :D
Weapon of choice:
Plus a huge selection of products. I got bored after 4 hours though. Tomorrow i will get...
Any decent retrimmer should have no problem redoing it in real leather(go for perforated) or suede.
I'm going for dark grey perforated leather with suede thumb grips, only quarm is getting the leather right to match the airbag colour.
It's not really that i live out of my own means, it's just that my budget predictions were quite wrong and i underestimated how much it'd cost me. It should be reliable for a while now but there's that thought running around in the back of my mind that at any minute it could spring a problem on...
Cambelt + fuel to get to rentech & back = £600
Damper refurb = £500
Discs & pads all round = £400
Wishbones = £130
Plus there's loads more than that also just tyres and normal servicing etc. But that adds up to £1630 as it is, and was over about 4-5 months of ownership, which even at 5 months is...
Short story, my clio has bankrupt me and i need to fix it before i sell it in order to sort out my finances. Damn i miss driving it though, this is the first time i've not driven it for more than 2 days since i got it 13k miles ago :(
Long story:
I loved trophies when they were released but was...
The 182 got a thorough treatment eventually. It had compbrake 4 pots, buckets, full cage etc. But he got bored of it & sold it on. Was for sale at a local renault garage about a year ago so it must have lived. I feel for whoever owns it now as it's had a very hard life.
His time attack car was...

That poor car! I can't believe how much abuse it took. I remember him hitting over 140mph on the way to the ring within a week of picking it up from renault, then doing a 9:15 lap 4 up!
They are very good marrow(i believe you are on the shed forum?) because they were fully developed and dyno tested in house by BTB exhausts. They are the real deal when it comes to exhausts, their header systems are up there as the best in the world, they use full computer modelling using...
Get it up on a ramp, stand underneath, grab the column just above where it goes into the steering rack and yank it about, if there is movement & the noise, there's your answer!
Replace the wire gasket.
The cats are well known for small cracks forming where the welds are.
And the centre section baffles are crap.
That should narrow it down! It's easiest to get it up on a ramp and give it a good rev while someone listens underneath for where the sound is coming from.
luke 335 has no centre caps on his track wheels, could have been him.
And the renault anthracite turinis are the same colour as normal ones. i have a set of speedline chronos in anthracite and next to my trophy alloys they are identical.
It's a pretty bad show, and the tracktime is awful with all of the amateurs and wannabes on track. It is therefore no suprise that hardly any trophy owners went ;)
Not sure! They must know it's a trophy?!
The guy i see every day flashes me and waves when i'm in my trophy yet isn't on here! I drive the 3 series when possible though so he doesn't see me half the time
A guy in worthing was waving like mad at me when he saw me in my trophy and hasn't...
Awesome, that's 5 trophys within the local area, i think there are a few others about to so we should get a good attendance!
The car had a renault tonbridge number plate, 55 reg, so it must be a local car! Possibly the same one i saw this morning again in the BP in felbridge. LX55 something...
