Enjoyed a thoroughly good run up to 'Caffeine & Machine' on Saturday to meet up with the RenaultSport group. Gave the car a quick wash before travelling but upon return felt it needed a bit more, so broke out the Auto Finesse arsenal; Snowfoam, Lather and Tripple.
Very pleased with the results...
Thanks MArk and yes I have the binder and stamped service book. I re-read your excellent thread which is where I picked up the history along with the notes from Simon whom I bought the car off. The book is stamped as having belts done in 2014 and I believe they need doing every five years ?
I have Trophy 31 and I know you had the car for a few years but I'm missing the invoices for 2014 when you had the belts done. I'll need to get them done again this year, but hoped you might be able to tell me when in 2014 they were done, and what was replaced at that time ? If you had the...
Out of interest, what is the cost of a refurb and who is the best person to do them ? If they are original (without the markings that the new ones have) they might be worth buying, refurbing and using or keeping as spares ... I have a mix of original and new.

One cuase that I had was the brake light switch under the brake pedal was faulty ...... pulling the end out, refitting and pressing brake pedal (see better explanation via google :-)) also helped.
However, I too get these lights (sometimes) when I first turn on the ignition and start the car...
Great setup Andy. I remember you and the GT3 from over on Impact Bumpers ??? Did a John Glynn organised Spa Tarck day in 2010 with my RS engined '73 I built with Tuthills and would love to do the same with the Trophy ... have you Tracked your Trophy ?
Chris I hadn't appreciated it needed painting my apology.
In that case I'll pass on this occasion as mine is fine but has some stone chips that can be dealt with as and when. Enjoying driving it at the moment [emoji16]

Chris I'd be serious about this if I could get it to me more easily ! I'd then remove mine and switch over the fitments to it as alternative to a repaint.
I'm happy to pay for Hermes or the like but would need you to wrap it. Is that possible?
I shipped in a 911 bonnet from California so a...
Could you PM me with price and postage options please, as mine is stone chipped and may consider new rather than repaint. Given it is Mat's thread he has first dibs though  Thanks
Scratch that, seen your for sale post on another thread.
I lived in Leeds and Harrogate in the 70s and 80s and visited Harewood with a friend who had an RS1600. His Dad was the UK Hillclimb champion [emoji16] I also helped a colleague with a Skoda sillhouette car with a BDA and a Pilbeam single seater. So yes a blast up the now longer course through...
Glad I'm not the only one who feels my old fillings are in danger when I use the FF 200 with Cup .... still a great car but the Trophy is so much easier over poorer surfaces. I'd be interested to track day both though. Perhaps I'll get an opportunity to do one of the RenaultSport Days in 2019.
Having driven the car as a regular (not daily) driver the these past few months, with an M25 100 mile trip, and then Surrye lanes in the evening, I thought it about time #31 got a good wash and wax. Well done to Simon the previous owner for keeping up wit this regime, as it is always easier to...
Nice to see an open and honest advert but is corrosion really to be expected ? Never consider it with a modern car !

After a great drive to the Silverstone Classic it was time for a wash.
Auto Finesse snowfoam lather and iron out with Finale. Simon left it well waxed so comes up great.

Thanks I will take a look as Simon gave me the tyre inflator bottle, new Sachs shocks, be heater panel and original radio.
Very nice car and will enjoy it.
There are a few around for sale so perhaps not #31 but another ?

Absolutely, and with that reality I'm not rushing to do it as whilst they are there they don't detract from the driving pleasure, only a minor cosmetic.
I have a good local body shop that would paint it but thought I might have a go at the touch up option, only if to see how it works out...
I was being lazy. I found this old thread http://www.cliotrophy.co.uk/threads/capsicum-red-paint-code.43818/ and it is code 727. 30ml bottles on Ebay and paint4u so I am going to source that and the pen. Cannot promise the results will be too soon though.
When I recently purchased #31 I did so knowing it had its fair share of small stone chips on the bonnet, as to be expected. The previous owner had considered repainting the bonnet but wanted to keep the original paint, so thus it stands now with original paint but a number of those pesky white...
Dablk put it very well, but to be honest the proximity to me did help as I whizzed over Sunday and did the deal in an hour :-)
Advert well written followed by good communication from a motivated seller to a motivated buyer for a good car at a fair price in current market.
Looking forward to...
I have purchased #31 as it was local, fair price, excellent seller and with good history and very tidy.
Have lurked here and approached other cars for sale as a genuine buyer and this was too good an opportunity on my doorstep.
Subject to MOT and Simon will drop it over next week.
To those I...
