@OLIEA79 Mileage is stored on the clocks NOT the ecu or anything else. Your best bet is to go onto eBay and find a set of 172 or 182 clocks that match your mileage (or there abouts) - there are plenty on eBay all about £20. Failing this you can buy new or old and have the mileage reset by...

A lot of the bolts are standard thread and pitch. When I did my engine bay refresh on 120 I got them from eBay. Other rare stuff can easily be replated.

You’re right Chris. Colour match is the main issue with powder coating. Also they often have a large metal flake content. The original colour is a light flat shade of grey.

Be careful as you need one with cruise control function. Try this one: It may seem expensive but is has the angle sensor attached which can fetch 3 figures on its own!

Plenty of second clocks on eBay - try and find one near your mileage. Or Google mileage correction in your area. Perfectly legal.

No the ecu does not retain the cars miles. Replacement clocks will have to be corrected.
