Prices are on the increase at the moment - so hold out for as much as you can. £8k min i'd say but there does seem a few up for sale at the moment, even though the numbers have dropped.
They've been steadily increasing over the last 12 months, prices are due to continue going north now.
As they become rarer, this will only accelerate the process.
How old are the front springs? If u don't carry many passengers then it's probably that extra weight of the driver on one particular side has caused greater spring compression to that corner.. Most cars suffer this but not many people ever check their ride height
Jules - I was thinking of doing another group buy for pagid blues - if there's enough interest then I'll sort one and some discount from my race supplier.
Anyone else experienced handbrake issues?
Possibly not the best description, but the only one I can come up with.. Mine has just become loose - doesn't grasp the rear brakes now - can be pulled up with no tension at all... Is this likely to just a brake cable issue or could the lever be...
yeah, the seals go every now and again. Unlike normal road dampers, they were designed to be serviceable as they are motorsport dampers - BTCC teams generally serviced them after every race meet but for road use most don't get done until the seals have broken down.
You don't need to replace the dampers - they are motorsport items in the first place, as used by Seat on their BTCC cars. The front springs could do with being stiffer and the rear dampers/springs need firming up also. I'd also suggest going for a decent set of solid top mounts for serious track...
Just a thought but maybe seal the whole unit in a condom - you can then see the damper still and it's got a protective barrier that's easy and inexpensive to replace.??..
Not sure, if it was a sensor fault then you wouldn't be able to see the ltr/gl left either... Sounds like a software error - have you tried the dashboard reset, stated above or unplugged the battery?
As Jules said - I met him once and he looked after it well. Also a respectable owner who i doubt will have tinkered with it too much. I think the only mod i remember him doing was the wiper stalk (the standard one didn't have the variable speed option that even a dynamique had)...
This sort of reminds me of the Topgear episode when they modified that reno people carrier... not keen on the splitter idea as it'll increase the drag and do little to increase downforce due to the nature of the bumper anyway.
It'll fail it's MOT on emissions with a decat. It barely gets through with a cold cat... If you go for a decent system and they fit it, ask them to modify how the manifold connects to the exhaust. Basically by replicating the front connection and rear connections, It'll make taking the Cat on...
The red ones were organised by Nik - the forum owner. I've a carbon one, but I think they were a one-off group from memory. Here's the link to the GB at the time http://www.cliotrophy.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/42977-Trophy-Keyrings/page2?highlight=keyring+group
Should be fine, but with ET38 you may get rubbing on the inside edge at extreme steering angles - not due to the tyre but the wheels I think... I had with the same wheels, changed the wheels for ET45 and no problems.
Only just seen this, been away for the last couple of weeks. Wow, just reading the threads is reminiscent of a certain forum user from the earlier days of the site... wonder if the same person?? Been a while since we've had a fool on the site, not quite sure why you'd want to go into a community...
