Litcho and what was Powerstation have been fitting ASTs for over 10 years. All be it the Type 25s etc used to run the 4100 22mm piston non inverted type. These are fully inverted 5100s with 44mm pistons so should perform a good deal better again.
I hope. ??
No idea ref Civic stuff mate.
arguably the belt receptacles will fit the male part of the belt but these are for a custom install of bucket seats as opposed to the OEM seats.
Few little trinkets arrived for WZD yesterday.
Seat belt receptacles for me to progress my Recaro install.
Some 16mm front spacers to suit the 2118s.
And lastly, a cheeky little dutch delivery from AST/Moton. Thought I’d get some detail photos before they go on as they’re unlikely to ever...
Small but satisfying job this morning.
Since fitting the new steering wheel, particularly with the snap off hub, it places the wheel closer to the driver and as a result, a little higher than before. This is fine ordinarily, but as I will want it lower when I get the Pole Positions in. (Yes yes...
Forgive me for possibly coming across rude, but you're asking what components people recommend you change during a the belt service, yet are discounting their input because in your opinion they were changed 5 years ago and only done 36k miles.
My car had a full belt/dephaser services by 8k miles...
Hey Dave.
The Pagid NSR is far too short, the OSR will fit bit it’s tighter than OEM. Personally if you’re doing the pair, get a genuine OSR from RPD and a NSR from Borg & Beck.
Thanks to @Amos91 for the heads up on the Borg & Beck item for the NSR. I can confirm WZD is now wearing new handbrake cables and the Borg & Beck item is really decent quality for the money.
The only issue I found was the protective sheathing was in the wrong place to protect the cable from...
So my Christmas update.
Since the rebuilt box went in, I’ve had an intermittent notchy engagement of 5th gear. I couldn’t decide if this was due to the PMS linkage not setup correctly or if the synchro was fucked?
All synchros and bearings were renewed so seemed odd to me. Had a chat about it...
I don’t own a Trophy but have a slightly modified 182. I ran this car alongside my 575bhp Impreza for 4.5 years.
Stupidly I sold the Clio to a friend and replaced it with what I thought at the time was an upgrade to a Mini GP1.
I hated the GP and regretted the sale of the Clio almost right away...
Finally some more progress.
I had my original wheel trimmed by snappy about 8 years ago and it’s been superb.
However now I’ve decided to modify the car a little I decided the wheel wasn’t keeping with the theme I was aiming for.
So today I managed to get some time to get the Momo Prototipo...
Last part of my steering wheel assembly has arrived thanks to Volantech.
I asked for as discrete button panel as possible for the cruise control.
I’m not a fan of these if I’m 100% but I think it’s as least offensive as possible.
The parts pile continues to grow with a little delivery from MOMO.
Not your typical Clio wheel, in fact ive never seen one fitted to a Clio, however one of my all time favourite wheels, the Prototipo classic.
They're not the simplest if you haven't done them before but certainly not hard. The main issue is access.
I hadn't don't a set before and took me about an hour, maybe just over.
The rack clamps have fingers that captively hold the lower M10 nuts, so in order to undo these you undo the 17mm...
So one of the things I noticed was that my shifter was very stiff to operate and didn’t self centre as per the OEM shifter. This made the drive feel very solid. But the shift always felt a bit vague in location as you was never 100% sure in you location across the gate. It was lovely at low...
Well my drive home last light was a very gentle one as i still had my OEM gearbox wrapped up in the boot. So can't really comment on the diff/arb just yet. The shifter is very marmite and does transfer some NVH to the cabin. It is very direct to use and more akin to a bolt action rifle in the...
So I collected WZD from AW Motorworks this evening. I really didn’t fancy swapping gearboxes and doing beam bushes in this weather. So Alex was once again entrusted to take care of proceedings.
Super knowledgable, reliable and friendly. Alex is always a pleasure to deal with and I can highly...
Massive thanks to Alyn @ AS Performance for the box of goodies that arrived for the Clio today. I’ve been purchasing my performance parts from Alyn for almost 15 years now and his knowledge and customer service is unlike any other I’ve experienced. Over the years I’ve never found anyone to get...
Haha, I’m an ex Cossie owner too Neil. No doubt we have crossed paths on passionford back in the day.
Ive spoken with Ash and did order a BMS from him. However, it was only after ordering one did I get a chance to try one. Sadly, on this particular vehicle, it was very sloppy even in gear.
It...
Been quiet on the update front with the Clio as im currently up to my neck in kitchen renovation and the car hasn't had a look in. I've just got an ever growing list of parts that i need to fit.
She has seen some attention in the last 2 days however.
Firstly a big thanks to Alex @AW Motorworks...
