Just curious about what happens if a car doesn't sell or meet its reserve.
Do CC facilitate or approach the highest bidder to see if they will offer more?
In today's new marketplace, with the price of most cars going down,it may turn out to be a regretful decision by the seller.
But it's their car so they can do what they want with it.
The reserve must have been at least £21k plus then.
I'll be a bit cheeky and say between £19500/21500.
Depending if there are at least 2 people determined enough and who have enough access to the wine cellar 😂
In some ways,it might be the ideal time of year to sell a car like that.
People sitting at home bored, stuffed full of chocolate and maybe a few drops of whiskey, nothing to do, thinking of the Spring time just around the corner,so they might say "Why the hell not..." 😉
Speaking as someone who is very much an interloper on here, its a really top notch forum.
Congrats to everyone involved in running it and keeping it ticking over.
Happy Christmas to everyone and best wishes to all your families. Here's to a healthy, happy and prosperous '24 for all Trophy owners...
Nice one, great to see how well it all turned out Ed.
Congrats to Craig and his team,no doubt it was no small undertaking.
I'm looking forward to reading my copy when it arrives, with a bit of luck before the Christmas shutdown.
I really hope it's a big success for you Craig.
@Idbul that's a great list.
@sj2112 Yes they most definitely did, life is too short for dull colours ;)
It seems most modern manufacturers just sell various different shades of grey/silver/white/black.
Even way back in the 60's/70's there was some properly stunning, bright colours available...
2002 Clio 172 Cup with 86,500 miles £8,500.
This might not be a rare colour, but there seems to have been a pretty
decent amount of expenditure on this 172 Cup fairly recently...
While this might not be a Trophy, just said I'd stick up this pretty clean looking 182
with 43k miles, in what must be a pretty rare colour, Inferno Orange.
Its up for £9,995.
There will be far more knowledgeable people on here who know the production figures a lot better than me.
How many...
There might be some interest in this on here.
2010 Clio Cup with only 8,914 miles on the clock, plus it has the Recaro's.
Seems like an unusual colour, don't think I've seen one in this shade of blue before.
By all accounts, they are supposed to be a top notch handling car...
Congrats Nick, lovely looking example.
Have you ever owned one of them before?
I don't think I've seen too many in black.
Good to see your Renault family expanding nicely ;)
Whenever you get your finger out and get that book of your car life written, I'll definitely be buying a copy ;)
Rallye's, Type-R's, more MIni's.....and that's probably only scratching the surface.
Great photos there Ed.
I have a feeling the coolness of the Irish car fleet went up quite significantly,
whenever you and your family made your trips across the sea.
Having both your Dad's R26 and your Trophy, would have been quite the cross
country convoy I'd imagine.
I think that silver...
That is a really nice looking car Nick, you seem to be giving it the thumbs up
which considering the work you've put into your own car, is a good enough sign.
I obviously don't know the backstory of the car/owner, but it must be a bit unusual for
a car like this to be sold using this method...
