What a brilliant article, thanks for the link Nick.
I've never heard about Rush before so I can only guess they are fairly new?
Anyone lucky enough to have a Trophy or any of the 172/182 Gen cars must be itching to drive them even more after reading that.
You've probably driven more cars in a few weeks than I've driven my whole life Nick 😉
I have a hankering for a nice R129 SL500 in something like Ruby/Almandine Red on AMG Monoblocks.
Yeah I think anything outside being used as a weekend, quick blast sort of car might not be ideal for everyday use.
Most people want that feeling that an Elise provides but they also want some semblance of ease of use and a bit of comfort etc.
I dont know if this qualifies as most people might consider it a bit more extreme than a Trophy but are there any Elise owners on here?
I have always wanted to try one but it's never happened (like a lot of cars unfortunately).
I would imagine something like a 172 Cup is a little bit more...
Wow that is a seriously well detailed history.
You clearly put a lot of time and effort into the car,I hope it finds a very good home.
Good luck with the sale.
He did what!!!
Jesus,I suppose it can happen to the best of us no matter how rich and successful you are 😂😂
He might have actually seen double digit mpg figures for a little bit then 😉
Yeah I think it was a really good buy in the current market when it was initially
offered on here a while ago.
I'd be pretty confident it will surpass the price Dawn was asking on here.
Best of luck with the sale and I hope it finds an equally good, new home.
Edit: Just seen its already at...
Yeah best of luck with the sale Dawn, probably one of the best times to sell on CC after the hype of them selling that record breaker.
I'll be watching with my bucket of popcorn 😉
Can you imagine the reactions and looks you would have gotten in 2005 when the Trophy launched that if you had said that one day it would be worth over £40k.
Crazy crazy times indeed.
I had forgotten all about this auction, just went on to CC to see the prices.
Sweet Jesus, that is some Trophy price!!
Whoever bought it really wanted it,best of luck to them and I hope they drive it and enjoy it.
What a nice bit of history there GPH.
When you think of these huge manufacturers building heritage fleets and buying cars to put in them,I never thought it would be down to a small group of people to manage it.
I guess you have to have that extra level of enthusiasm for a manufacturers back...
Congratulations and well done,I'd say your itching to get it off the truck and get out on a few back roads to test it out 😉
Wish you many happy, safe miles in it 👍
That's a pretty damn good bunch of cars to have owned Messer 👍
That Lotus Cortina looks particularly tasty and looks great in red compared to the more usual white.
Do you still have the 172 Cup?
What did you think about it,I'd love to try one at some stage.
Just had a look at that Megane, its a bit special alright.
But surely cars like that are basically undriveable, their value is in the very low mileages.
Its a pity to see cars like that which are so well renowned for their driving characteristics
not being used.
Different strokes for different...
Just curious about the Carcoon.
I've read online over here in Ireland that several people who have ordered from Carcoon have found it very frustrating and a complete pain dealing with them.
Some placed their orders over 4/5 months ago and they still cant get any details of when they might...
