Oooops. Well there’s one of the reasons for my posts in the other thread! At least I said nice things about this one apart from saying it was too expensive.
Yep, it’s got to have had some paint somewhere I guess, but it’s the little things like new wheel nuts that point to the big stuff also being looked after.
Although those things can also flatter to deceive!
Debated whether or not to row into this one but what the hell. I actually think it’s a really nicely turned out example. All the door shuts spotless, cabin all original and in very good condition (bar the ciggie lighter) all plastics good and black, wheels look good and it’s looking really...
As I said in my original post, I’m fairly but not 100% sure these are no longer available which is why I posted it up. You must have seen this thread https://cliotrophy.co.uk/threads/clio-trophy-part-numbers.53897/ ?
Plenty of copies available fairly cheaply but I think these are NLA from Renault so may be worth a cheeky offer.

I finally received this reply today, it’s pretty much a stock brush off!

I’ve had both the steering wheel position fault, slightly loose connector on the lead under the top cowling behind the steering wheel which was easily solved and has never reoccurred. Also the lead under the passenger seat had caused some grief, I have cable tied it to the frame and is mostly...
For a while I followed the development of the RSC range due to a connection to the Renault 5 scene. Looks good but with no UK outlet would be a pita for servicing.
Reading this thread was a little surprised to see my car (307) had apparently done nearly 125k back in 2017:eek: looks like IanE entered the wrong car number and it was never picked up. It was and still has 57k under its belt by the way.
And who are you I wonder? Being dirty was the bottom of a list of problems probably indicative of the general health of the car and if “finding someone willing to pay” over the top money for a pretty average car was top of the sellers priorities then fair enough, but it doesn’t say much about...
Yep, pretty much what I was saying in my post above. Pretty lousy advert for a lousy car being sold by a company who are shamelessly using a previous owners name to inflate the price and help the sale. But anyway it’s been taken down now.
I’m not sure if I’m reading too much in here but the advert says “owned“ by Jethro and him being the “last owner” almost in the past tense and there are other references in the description that seem to imply that ownership in the past tense. It certainly seems to be being sold by someone other...
Thanks Will, mine has similar mileage so interesting to see another’s underwear! Mine seems to be mostly dirty but could probably do with dismantling to give it the same treatment.

some useful info from post 214? But the whole of the thread is well worth a read but as above “just refurb them”
As I have tried to stress, movement of the reservoir is not a good way of checking the health of a damper on it’s own. The dampers are unlikely to fail together so you have another to compare it against. If you can push down on the front corner and it bounces but not on the other side then the...
The second good damper was fine with no movement but I wouldn’t get too hung up on that as I have another pair that have both failed and neither remote on those moves.
As to the technical specs, I doubt any of the specialists will release that information.
I’m not totally confident offering advice on this as I’m not the expert, but yes I could move the reservoir ever so slightly by hand on the failed one. There was no sign of any oil leak and had lost pressure, in the end the whole shaft was replaced despite looking perfect
