    Spare parts to get NOW

I’m afraid to say and happy to stand corrected if it’s not correct, but I’m pretty sure Original Renault driveshafts are no longer available...

    Re: Handling

Have you replaced the ARB or steering rack bushes, sounds like it could be slight movement in the rack perhaps in that it tracks one way then the other? Your alignment and specifically front toe settings appear to be set up ok on your print out.

Two interesting £16k cars on AT

Haha! ..'a garage piece'. 🤣 You're right though Nick, it's not going to be belting along a B-road is it, more's the shame.

I saw something somewhere about a Mk1 Focus RS going for near £70k.

Just ordered one today. Looking forward to getting the Mini out of the weather for the Winter.

Been to have a nosey at this today

I'm waiting for the day when someone builds a shed round it and declares it a "barn find". 😆

Been to have a nosey at this today

Have to say, No. 63 looking great now Nick, definitely worth the spend to bring it back from the brink. I've just shelled out similar on No. 407 on fairly routine upkeep, but worth every penny to keep it driving as it should. 👍

Been to have a nosey at this today

I dread to think how rotten that's going to be underneath. Though the cynic in me says with that mileage and a quick detail it would fetch a handsome sum on 'Collecting Cars'... 😀

    Anyone use a Carcoon?

I've not heard of any issues particularly, though after a bit of looking online there seems to be some very mixed reviews/ experiences from folk dealing direct with the company, seems either brilliant or a bit rubbish... Food for thought.

    Anyone use a Carcoon?

Thanks for your reply Dave, much appreciated, I hope you're keeping well. Great to hear your positive experience with the outdoor model, as I've also been looking at these as well as the indoor versions. :) 👍

    Anyone use a Carcoon?

Cheers Jules! I agree with your points on humidity, and as with yourself I've also seen cars which have been stored poorly indoors, which in some cases are in a worse state than if they'd been kept outdoors. Having secured an indoor space, I want to create the best environment I can for the...

    Anyone use a Carcoon?

It sounds like you already have a good set up with your garaging, without going into too many details we're not in quite as favourable a position and we live in a particularly wet part of the country that seems to be getting wetter by the week at the moment.. Initially, my main concern is our...

    Anyone use a Carcoon?

Hi all, as the title suggests, I'm looking at getting a Carcoon or three in the near future to store the cars in. Does anyone have any experience of using them? I'm guessing the Veloce model with the drive in access is the most practical. Edited to add: indoor model rather than outdoor..

    It stopped raining!

I once bought a Porsche 924 'as seen' from a pitch on Manchester Road near there. They wanted a quick sale as it was pissing water out so got it for a daft price, took it home and one VW LT van water pump later it was right as rain. Easiest fix ever and turned out to be a cracking car.

    It stopped raining!

Occasionally, and I used to go to their house before they had the Milnsbridge premises. I think I got a couple of Cooper S wheels and a bare 12G295 head which I then did a lot of flow bench work / testing on if my memory serves... It's a long while since Nick!! 😆 Was down your way this...

    Clio 182 Trophy - wanted

😆 I'll have to re-read it now.. I think the gist was the Trophy was the brisker and more involved drivers machine but the RP was more 'exotic', each has their appeal I guess, but it would be the Trophy all day long for me.

If I recall the 'verdict' as such was that they were both great cars in their own quite different ways.
