Went to the Nec today and was very disappointed with most of the Silverstone Auction cars - Also very unhappy not to see a Trophy on the the Renault / Alpine stands.

Well put Sam - I think you now definitely have the best Trophy on the market 👍

Not sure the other car will make a nicer car even after throwing strong money at it

If you have the time and money anything is possible.
If someone is happy to throw £££ at it like people throw away rubbish then this car could be just as good if not batter.

on saying the above I reiterate that deep deep pockets are needed and a lot of time.

A one owner 31k car that could be immaculate could go for serious money especially if all the OE parts are there.

Don’t understand why you would make comment indicating it’s in poor state but keeping cards close to your chests instead of just giving a review of it

As I posted previously I think mid 14s was about all it was worth given the condition and the obvious amount needed to get it to anywhere near good condition. It’s still got to sell, as we know eBay is full of folk bidding and drinking on an empty head.

If it does go at 15ish ad the paintwork isn’t too bad someone could get a decent low mileage car for sub £20k if they have the right contacts for the work to be done.

I fell it went for the right money

I am open enough to have offered a figure to the pitlane performance trophy, for the amount of owners always slightly put me off. And a deal couldn't be done, I feel that is what will always let it down.

This is a cracking buy for someone who Is willing to not flip the car and get it back to or spec. Time will tell but I fear the worst.

The Pitlane car is advertised as One Owner. I know there is some suggestion it’s had 6+ owners, presumably the seller wouldn’t deliberately mislead so what’s the truth with it. It seems a very brave and very wrong move advertising it as one owner if that’s not correct

It's a 6 owner car, I feel this is hand on heart the only reason it hasn't sold.

I’m confused at why this keeps coming up, the advert is there to read on 4 separate platforms!

Our car has never been advertised as a 1 owner car . It’s a 6 owner car.

I would never make this mistake and have never suggested it was a 1 owner vehicle.

Off topic, but feel it’s necessary
The first paragraph:
‘Here at Pitlane Performance finding the right cars for us to sell is extremely tough, with selling a huge amount of Renaultsport's and being lucky enough to have had some incredible examples (including sub 50k Mile 1 Owner Clio Trophy) it's quite something to say this is truly the best example I have ever seen.’

I’m not sure how that could be classed as misleading.. we’re expressing that we have experience with these cars and the values.

Sorry but we have a exceptional reputation and this is something I will always continue to pursue, seeing people potentially question our ‘legitimacy’ on a public forum because they haven’t read the advert is a bit frustrating as you can imagine.

I’m overly honest with the cars we advertise as I completely understand the purchasers point of view as I’m also a very keen car enthusiast.

Apologies if this comes across as a bit of a rant, but the advert is as honest as it could possibly be and is extremely thorough and not once suggests it’s a 1 owner car.

Thanks, Sam

I just think that first paragraph is a bit clumsy and if skimmed can imply that you are selling a one owner car. The fact you are having to defend the description “again” kinda points to that.

I’ll take onboard your thoughts and genuinely do see what you mean, but I do write them to be read, not skimmed I guess.

On generic cars I completely understand, skim through looking for the important bits. I do this on pretty much all the cars I buy, then once all the important bits have been ticked mentally, I’ll read it thoroughly.
I only do this as I look through hundreds of adverts a day to buy stock.

But on a car like this, people in the market for a car like this will read the advert in detail and thoroughly inspect the photo’s from my experience.

I do appreciate any constructive criticism! It really wasn’t written to be misleading or seen as clumsy! :)

The Pitlane car is not advertised as a one owner car though. The advert is misleading in that respect and you have to read the first paragraph carefully.

Ah yes, I’ve just read it again a couple of times. Apologies Sam but in my defence I’m not the only one. It’s a nice car. 👍

 :ROFLMAO: It's getting worse than the Porsche and Ferrari forums in here these days regarding prices, residuals, advertising, and resulting upset!

To be fair, I think Sam's advert was pretty spot-on and - to me at least - I never took it as being a one-owner car. But I tend to read through adverts thoroughly when interested as opposed to skimming them.

Most collectable cars have higher numbers of owners.

Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini are probably some of the worst! People buy them, maintain them to a high standard with no expense spared, enjoy them, do limited miles in them and then sell them on usually not losing much in the way of value in the cars
