Unfortunately, the time has come to part company with my treasured trophy. I bought this vehicle partly as a mile’s stone having worked for a Renault dealer when released and secondly as an investment. When purchased it required a lot of attention having sat off the road for nearly three years. Having just replaced the rear pads and discs, top mounts, lambda sensor front suspension springs and battery this wonderful trophy sailed through its MOT at a healthy 126661 miles. This trophy has had a lot of mechanical work completed over its 15 year life.

Below is a list of every piece of work completed which can be evidenced through the large folder of receipts and on the register forum.

Engine

The engine runs well with no knocking or warning lights. From the trophy register there is a decent record of the work completed, the majority backed up by the list of invoices in my possession. In the past the vehicle has had some wiring work, none of which was done in my possession but is noticeable when you open the bonnet.

Gearbox

The gearbox seems smooth with all gears operational.

Bodywork

The bodywork is as you would expect of a 15 year old car, it has usual bubbling on the bottom corner of the bonnet, there are the normal pesky door dents that should press out and a chip on the roof where the driver’s door has been slammed and kissed the roof. The front lights could do with some attention an easy and common fix.

Alloy

The alloys from what I can see are the original Renault colour, three have the slightest marks only noticeable if you look closely

Tyres

All four tyres are fitted with the Michelin Pilot Sport 3’s with approximately 5mm of tread on all.

Interior

The legendary recaro seats show little wear, the steering wheel has either been replaced or retrimmed so there is no common rubber grip peal. The original bench seat has been replaced with a 182 leather and suede seat, this is a common change personally I think it looks better but its personal preference I guess. The radio is standard, and the heating panel has no signs of pealing. As mentioned in the intro the gear lever is the only thing that looks a little tired.

Overview

Personally, I feel I have been overly critical rare when writing an advert, this might be my conscious telling me I do not want to sell it, I am also not interested in wasting anyone’s time. Please don’t expect this to be in concours condition, with a bit of time and love you could have a show ready vehicle for when COVID buggers off and the car shows open or you can use it for what it was designed for which is to take it around the track. I will be extremely sad to let this go, part of me does not want to but I just cannot see it parked up outside not being treasured in a garage. As the wife will not let me build a garage and with the risk she would make me move into it if built the trophy must go. Serious buyers only I have a young family so my time is as precious as everyone else’s.

That's quick. Given what these have gone for on Collecting Cars recently I'd not be too hasty in dropping price.

One thing seeing high advertised prices and another thing entirely seeing they're actually selling for high values in an auction.

I am I’m afraid. Changed my mind last October as I love driving it. Don’t want to sell but can’t find a garage to store it locally and I just can’t see it sat outside looking sorry for itself. Plus the wife has not stopped moaning about it being parked on the drive. Hate to do it but I have to be sensible. I’ve dropped the price after watching others sell over the last few month. It’s the lowest I will take to stop tyre kickers.

Morning all, me again.
after watching the market place over the last 6 months and now having no option but to put this beauty back on the market I am looking to sell. Looking at my previous listing the originally proposed price was a little high (sure the critics will agree). Looking to move her on for around the £6000 mark to the right buyer if anyone is interested. As you will all see she does need some work to make mint. If anyone is interested please get in touch. She has to go this time, I did get cold feet when I put her up for sale last time this will not happen this time as our second child is due soon. Thanks for looking
