Regas shouldn’t make it any worse even if in 100% working condition if done correctly. You can encounter a valve not sealing if disturbed i.e. during any work which can leak, normally a range of valves should be something kept by the technician.
Regassed my T 2 weeks ago will post temps up as soon as i get a spare moment [emoji106]

Ok here goes the results:

Car: Renault Trophy
Ambient temp 30C
Temp inside vehicle at start 37C

Regardless of recirculate function I get these static results (ie car stationary, engine fully warm at 2000rpm constant, temp probe inside centre right air vent:

Fan Speed 4: 12C
Fan Speed 3: 9C
Fan Speed 2: 8C
Fan Speed 1: 7C

For comparison a Renault Modus will go down to 7C generally.
Just did a Mercedes was 5C in same ambient conditions with fan speed set on slowest & recirc on.

You may well get a degree or so lower when driving due to better airflow through the condenser.

Think mine needs some love - I have it regassed every other service, but it's not working i.e. not lowering the temp, so either I've a leak somewhere or the conditioner needs rebuilding :/

About 1/4 of all jobs I get need a condenser - either corrosion or stone/impact damage. A few need a new seal somewhere in system. The filter/dryer unit is best replaced occasionally if not part of the condenser as it has a silica gel anti moisture type filing. If system has no gas at all (ie from a leak) the silica soon absorbs ambient moisture that gets in rendering it useless. The vacuum before regassing is very important to remove as much moisture as possible from the whole system. Ideally a 60 min vacuum is best, but not always practical. If system has some gas left then a 25-30 min vac. is usually sufficient.

good to know! my car needs a regas, can tell there is a tiny bit of gas left but definitely can't handle warm days like today. Too bad you're too far from London haha. What is the furthest you would go?
