Service light coming on sometimes??

Sometimes when i start the trophy up the service light comes on. Then other times is doesn't. I've done 8300 miles so it shouldn't be needing a service. I know the oil is running low and i've bought the tools to change it myself but i keep putting it off. However i shall now do the change or atleast topup the oil. Anyone else had this? Will probably take it to renault to keep all is ok.

mine came on today, service light and also on the lcd oil flashes with some lines underneath. Put in a litre and it went away.

the service light will not come on if the car needs servicing as in a oil change it is to warn you that you oil level is low and requires attention and so on

Ditto, just top up the oil...

Thanks for the replies. I thought that would be the case. Bought my oil through opie oils and have got it today.
