rossma asks
Hi, Can you tell me if there is a difference between PE2 205/45 16 tyres rated V & W apart from the speed capability. Is it safe to mix them on an axle and will it do anything to the handling. Many thanks Matt

Allen responds
The side wall stiffness is the major change. For me it is never recomended to mix different speed ratings on the same axle. The standard tyre was v rated. Apparently the only way to tell the difference to the Cup spec tyre was the colour lines that are evident along the tread when the tyre is new. "

above is what it says.

If you're looking at the same bit of the technical spec as I am, the R is just telling you that the tyre is radial belt tyre, as opposed to something like cross-ply or other tyre contruction.

W's are heavier than V's, stronger tyre walls for heavier cars - plus they cost more.

There's no need for them on the T
