They are the ones worth posting up, loved the cherry gti, hated the type r. VX220 ended up like this

14636_343409880323_896190323_9678079_4170611_n.jpg

after six weeks :(

So then i brought a £400 corsa sport to just get me about in, then the black gti which was no where near as good as my first one, then the Trophy. Saving up now to get another VX220 or an elise, i'd realy like an exige but they are a bit out of my price range

I too would like to know what was it about the type R you didn't like, I would of thought it almost identical to the clio. Only from reading about them I would be more than happy to own one.

Cool Cam,

from 1.1 to 1.4 to 1.6 to 2.0

so in about 10 yrs time you're going to have a 92ltr, v64 engined, stretched Veyron?

This was my last car:

Had various polo's before I got this money pit!
(I loved it really, just had to fix something on it every weekend)

3dr 2.0ltr Volvo 360 GLT

I've posted before, but 3 of our current 4 cars, the one missing from picture our track day Fiat Cinquecento Abarth 1368cc 16V 6speed Panda 100HP conversion, quaiffe LSD, big brake conversion front & rear, AVO coil overs etc etc

Clio Trophy, Lancia integrale EVO, Civic Type-R Premier Edition.
P1000358.jpg

Suzuki Ignis Sport, great little homologation car, that being Japanese you could buy genuine Suzuki Sport tuning goodies, not cheap but beautifully made & proper R&D done. It had SS lowering springs, carbon fibre cold air induction system, strut brace bar, pedal covers & then complimentary WhiteLine front & rear anti-roll bars.

Ignis002.jpg

Toyota Celica GT4 ST205, late facelift JDM model. Lots of very rare items, TRD (Toyota Racing Developments) seats, TRD quick shift, TRD top mounts Tein lowering springs & genuine KYB/Toyota dampers, genuine Toyota optional MOMO steering wheel, alloy pedal covers, projector headlamps, s/s kick plates, C-one front & rear bumper extensions, OEM optional side skirts, silver dash panels, Blitz Access ECU. I didn't actually want to sell but someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse & it now sits in a garage keeping a limited edition Giallo integrale EVO2 for company so he can live the SEGA rally dream like I did lol

Mitsubishi FTO GPversionR, one of only 350 made, less than 10 in the UK, & only recently sold it to first person to view, took less than a week to sell for full asking price. Totally underrated car in the UK due high number of dogs with 4 speed auto boxes. But a 2L V6 that revs to 8300rpm with aid of variable cam timing & inlet track length, LSD, thicker anti-roll bars with different pick up points over non GPvR models makes it superior to drive than the much vaunted DC2 Integra.

P1000317.jpg

Only picks I can find at the mo on my phone, but also had Series 1 106 Rallye in red, '88 black R5GTT, '90 tungsten grey R5GTT, 2 Van Aaken Turbo Fiat Cinquecento's, 2 MG Metro's & MG Metro Turbo, Mark1 Fiesta XR2, '71 & '74 VW Beetles, '80 Opel Manta that I can remember off hand.

Cossiefan, lets just say my foot was to heavy in the rain, in the VX220T span 180 and ended up in an old biddys garden lol. Lesson learnt :( I was gutted at the time.

I wanted a type r for ages, everything i read about them sounded brill. When i drove it i hated it because of the electric power steering, no feel to it at all. Just had no confidence init going hard around a bend. The engine and box init were realy good, although a bit boring sometimes needing to thrash it to get it to go. If the trophy was as well put together as the civic and had its engine and box i think that would be the perfect hot hatch

Some really nice cars here, I have to admit the 5 is not an old ride just a current car that's old. My pick of the bunch so far- Badgers Escort.

oh yes, in fairness I only ran a car for the winter when it was too cold for the motorbikes! Good fun, reliable and heated black leather seats - perfect winter car. 22 mpg max - poor everyday car...
