Hiya,

Have asked this question via the Opie Oils website but thought i would post it on here for reference too.

My Trophy service is due soon. 2 questions if i may???

1. What Oil would you suggest as the best to change to when my little red one is serviced???

2. How much oil will i need for the change ( Oil tank size ) and how much to order so i will have some left for future top up's?

Thank you.

The tops are the Silkolene Pro S and the Motul 300v 5w-40's.

Sump size about 4.9ltr.

Thanks oilman, I've just ordered 5 litres of your lovely Silkolene Pro S 5W-40 for the bargain price of £43.47 including VAT and Post&Packing (free carriage over £30 - marvellous)

Just got to pick up the oil filter and sump plug washer from Renault now.

Oil filter - Renault part number 8200033408
Sump plug washer - Renault part number 7700266044

£50 every 6000 miles isn't bad when you consider that's £900 worth of Optimax that's gone through the engine.

Got the oil on Friday. Bloody hell that's fast! if I knew it was going to be that quick I would have sorted the filter and sump plug washer out, I could be doing the oil change today.

10/10 for service. :D :D :D

I've already recommended Opie Oils to three people, if only more companies knew the value of good customer service. eg. Renault.

Top, top stuff.

Ordered my Oil at the weekend and it arrived on my doorstep today. Couldnt have asked for a better service, and price for that matter.

The questions i asked were answered in record time, all advice was most appreciated. Order placed, email sent to say it had been dispatched. Top Quality.

Thanks again. Certainly gets my approval.

Thanks again.

i'm approaching 10000 miles so reckon i'll be needing a first service in a couple of months time. The answers to these two questions would help me too - either from oilman or wigstar.

Cheers,

I'll answer those if I may...

1. Silkolene Pro S 5W 40 Racing Oil or Motul 5W 40 are the top choices and are fully synthetic ester based oils and are fully tested and approved for track/race use.

2. The sump size is approximately 4.9 litres so a standard 5 litre container will be sufficient for an oil change and a small top-up.

And some more information needed for the change...

3. Renault original equipment oil filter, part number - 8200033408
Renault sump plug washer, part number - 770026604
Price for both of these - £8.09 from any Renault service centre

I'll be doing mine this week, thanks to OliS for his guide - http://cliotrophy.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=844

EDIT - Oops, too slow...
