Dealer vs specialist

Right, my trophy needs a service next month. The conundrum is currently it has a full Renault. For my other car I have always gone to a specialist (due to not trusting dealers). But as these cars are going up, do I go to the best Renault dealer i can find in Kent - any recommendations???? To keep this full ren history for if I do ever sell Or do I go two techs???

Hmm a very good well known specialist would be good. But a dealer stamp would be alright as well. All depends what's near you tbh.

Oil/filter service then go to Renault.
But I'd probably prefer a well known and respected specialist for cambelt. (If I was buying or if it was my car)

Reputable specialist every time for me. My first experience with a Renault dealer put me off for life and I ended up having to go directly to Renault UK to get an issue resolved. Apparently I had modified the Trophy by adding Sachs suspension and Recaro Trendlines hence they refused to honour the work under warranty... The Renault mechanic who supposedly dealt with the issue was the in-house RenaultSport expert, too...

If you're prepared to travel to West London I'd trust Andy Cochrane at Renault London West; should you want to follow the dealer route.

He's joined them after leaving R-Sport in Wimbledon, that used to be Radbourne Racing and run a lot of Clio Cup cars. R-Sport decided to stop servicing and building cars to solely focus on supplying parts for Clio Cup cars.

Andy was going to set up on his own, but Keith Homer, the service manager with 20 years Renault experience who was parachuted into RLW to turn around a basket case, asked him to join to turn serving around. Andy is raising the bar and is given dispensation to bring his 'own clients' to RLW to carry out work e.g. he's rebuilding a Trophy Forum member's engine that RLW probably wouldn't normally get involved with. Just make sure you ask for only Andy to carry out any work.

Otherwise I'd be driving to Portsmouth for Mike at RenTech or up to Essex for Mark Fish.
