Clio Trophy for sale

79k miles with Full Service History

Plaque number 416 out of 500, a rare 06 plate

MOT until April 2017

Just had major cambelt service including water pump and pulleys this month

4 previous owners

A very good example of this very special little car. If you are looking at this advert then I imagine you know exactly what this car is and how good it is. I have owned this car since October 2015. I am a massive Renaultsport enthusiast and this is the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] Trophy I’ve owned, and 6[SUP]th[/SUP] Renaultsport.

Full service history from Renault or Specialists.

Still has the all important Sachs dampers, with the fronts having been refurbed by BG motorsports in 2010, and checked by a specialist this month. The rears are brand new and were fitted this month. Has genuine Trophy springs fitted in May 2014.

Also has an RS192 exhaust fitted in August 2015.

The tyres are Yokohama AD08Rs all round, which I regard as the best tyre for this car. These were new last summer and have 4.5mm on the front, and 6.5mm on the rear.

It had new Brembo HC disks and Ferrodo ds2500 pads fitted in April 2015.

Snappy steering wheel fitted.

Body work is in good condition and has been regularly washed. It could benefit from a front end respray as has a few stone chips, as to be expected, but I was searching for a car that was mechanically excellent when I found this one, and a few stone chips don’t bother me.

I’m happy to answer any questions

Prices do seem to have gone up slightly. I've also spent £1500+ on it recently, so nothing will be needed for a good while.

Hi Roy, sorry to see you go (again). My Trophy is still rugged up and well.

Still getting to grips with the 200; I'm not doing that well as I've only put 3000 miles on it since last February! It finally clicked to 6000 the other week. New Elf NTP oil, rather than the NTJ, in the 'box helped loads. It's also had a few niggles sorted under warranty (trip button on wiper stalk failed). When ragging it it's great, but the damping is still woeful in my opinion. So crashy when really pushing it on UK roads compared to the Trophy. Not enough marble smooth roads about.

I'm still toying with the idea of taking the Cup springs off, going to standard and keeping the Cup dampers. It then might be more compliant. It's due an oil change with Mike at Rentech so may chat to Mark Fish about damping and work out a solution. I hear the B14's from Bilstein are great for compliance. Although I'm not really into modding road cars from OEM parts.

Good luck with the sale. Maybe see you for a third time ; )

Not properly advertised it yet. Nobody on here or cliosport, well someone messaged me but never replied.

I'll get it on PH initially, then ebay after if it doesn't go

Good luck - I think if yours sells for that price range a few people might think about selling.

It totally depends if you're bothered about mileage or not. I saw some lower mileage ones that weren't as well looked after as this one. Mechanically it's absolutely spot on, so if you want one to drive then here it is. That's more important to me than mileage tbh

I think the market has gone flat on them now. There are 10 on PH for sale and others here and there, I've seen nothing really move in a while. Of the ones for sale there is a good cross section on mileage and condition. I think those folk trying to sell these cars at £9k + are going to be stuck with them for quite a while.

Its a buyers market at the moment by there aren't many buyers !

Funny, I floated a price and everyone said I was underselling mine. Maybe I should just go with my gut instinct? We'll see...

If you're not in a rush or don't really need to sell leave it out there, you only need the one buyer, it's only my opinion it's just that 6 months ago there were only 2 or 3 cars for sale and people looking for cars, maybe after the classic car review rated them as a future classic doubling in value. Now there are cars for sale well into double figures albeit some stupidly priced in my opinion. There have been a couple of new owners crop up over last few weeks but the frenzy to buy seems to have subsided

No rush, like I say just fancy a change. Worst case scenario I keep it and have one of the best (if not the best) hot hatches ever made - what a bugger ;)
