Recently purchased from Feirny for both the Bedford trackday on Saturday 16[SUP]th[/SUP] (where it performed absolutely faultlessly, & allowed me to have a flipping awesome day!!) and to replace the R32, I’ve now been informed that a Clio is not really suitable for work/car allowance purposes anymore. As such, it is regrettably for sale.

'55 reg, Clio 182 Trophy, currently on 113k miles, 10 months mot & 3 months tax.

First things first, the car is listed as a CAT D - damaged in the rear quarter in July 2010 (by J_A_R_B on cliotrophy), the car was then purchased by Josh at Renparts, rebuilt and sold to his friend Greg in December 2010 (Feirny on here & cliotrophy). Unfortunately, there are a few tiny rust bubbles forming on the rear passenger arch (the repaired side) and the passenger door fitment is slightly off (could probably be sorted easily by a bodyshop) – the colour match looks fine however as the whole side of the car was resprayed during repair. In addition, just before I bought the car, Greg started it in gear and scraped the front bumper against his garage door.

Spec wise it has all the usual Trophy features, with a few welcome surprises:

Michelin PS3’s on the front, PE2’s on the rear – all with good tread
Scorpion SRN019 exhaust – not much louder than standard, pretty quiet at cruising speeds
Group Buy rear ARB
Sportline rear springs

The dampers have not been refurbished as far as im aware, but are not bouncy and the car drives perfectly fine. Having had three Trophy’s now, this one drives the tightest steering wise and was brilliant at Bedford recently. For reference, a Sachs refurb can be done at Cornering Force for circa £250 these days, so it’s certainly not the be all & end all that it used to be.

Full history is as follows:

30.9.05: New Car: 0 miles: PDI (owned by Richard3 on cliotrophy)
13.7.06: Thomas Day Renault: 12,365 miles: 12k Service
21.11.06: Thomas Day Renault: 24,601 miles: 24k Service
26.3.07: SMC Renault: 34,503 miles: 36k Service
21.12.07: SMC Renault: 50,114 miles: 48k Service
28.10.08: SMC Renault: 64,009 miles: 60k Service
7.5.09: SMC Renault: 72,685 miles: Bonnet Catch Recall
6.9.09: Fares & Repairs (VAG Specialist): 80,628 miles: Cambelt/auxbelt change & major service
2.6.10: Transgear Southampton: Unknown miles: Valeo clutch, gearbox oil seal, engine oil & filter
20.6.11: DDC Doncaster: 89,499 miles: Engine rebuilt in 14 valves, cambelt, auxbelt, aux tensioner, dephaser pulley, 2 cylinder rings, engine oil/filter, coolant and a new piston as one was scored.

Bodywork issues aside, the car is mechanically spot on, having had a full engine rebuild by DDC Doncaster in 2011 after cambelt problems. The car has also had a new Valeo clutch within the last 25k, new battery in September 2012, Lambda sensor in January 2013 and I have fitted a passenger side hub, along with new front pads, rear discs/bearings within the last 2 weeks. I will also supply a new Skoda Fabia splitter and the parts for a service prior to sale, ie oil/pollen/air filters along with the necessary 5W40 oil.

Any other minor issues/repairs required are listed here in my project thread: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/show...x-Miley-Shed&p=9346427&viewfull=1#post9346427

Unfortunately, I haven’t taken any decent pictures since I bought the car, so I hope Feirny doesn’t mind me using some of his:

For reference, i will also remove the Trendline/Turinis if you are simply look for a car to use as a 'trackcar build'.

You'd obviously need to bring your own seats/wheels.

As said, happy to sell this Trophy as a 'racebase' for trackuse, minus Recaros, Turinis, ARB, spoiler, etc etc. Hell you can take it without the suspension for all i care, just pm me and work out a price.

For example - no turinis or Recaros = less than £2k for a '55 182 with spaffy suspension.

Wang some buckets & Oz F1's on it and thats a mega cheap track car.

I'd rather not break it as it seems like a shame to, but i will if nobody buys the damn thing lol.

Poor Sir Dave more like... Nobody wants to buy this amazing & hugely capable car at a great price!

Exactly lol. Had two people look at it now and both moaned about the scratched front bumper, despite wanting to use it as a TRACKCAR. Its less than £3k and mechanically fine, but yet people want mintness lol.

If you decide to break it, can I have first dibs on the wiper mechanism and the scuttle panel please?

Does the mechanism work well? By that I mean the passenger wiper stays on the screen instead of flying off the side.
