I think the black finish on the cover makes it look oem and the polished sections work well in contrast to it. I know it's in a somewhat different league, but rather like ferrari's use of red and with polished lettering (maybe?!)

Bad news today. Washing the bugs off the front.. BANG. A piece of clearcoat flies off.

Just been down to the body shop. He said when theres been a front end respray in the past (previous owner), the paint on the bonnet has dried quicker than the bumper (metal vs plastic).. so the clear coat hasnt stuck to the bonnet properly.
So the bumper looks fine but the bonnet is f**ked. All needs stripping off because the paint is quite thick, too much to flat down and blend in. Booked in next tuesday for a full strip and respray.

Tyres will have to wait. Deep joy. :oops:

Bummer! Never seen that before! How much is that going to cost you to get that sorted?

£300 to be done Properly.
