Last week end while at ultimate street car @ santa pod after a lot of hasle off my mates i reluctanly took my trophy down the drag strip.

First run ever on a drag strip i managed 15.5 beating a v6 calebra 16.6
next run an Astra coupe turbo i got 15.73 he got 15.68 i won again because i had a better reaction.

at this point i was in the que for my third run with to lads from cliosport.net on had an 182 cup and he best time was 15.8 the other had a 172cup lighter then my trophy and no esp/traction he recond he had done an 15.2.

so for my final run i tried with out esp and a combination of them shuting lane 2, being left on the line for ever and driving through 6 tone of water, when the lights changed it spun first and second and i only manged 16.1!!

Want i want to know is what is the book time for a trophy 1/4 mile??

has any one else done one and what where there results??

by the way my mate has a mk5 RS2000 he pulled out all his interia and everything else he could and only managed 15.8 but the year before he got 16.1 so he was happy and it shut him up!!!

I've run my 182 cup up at Santa Pod, which can only be marginally heavier than a Trophy, same seats too. I had half a tank of fuel, the temperature was 33 degrees and my runs were as follows:

60ft - 2.624
1/4 - 15.861@90.53mph

60ft - 2.566
1/4 - 15.685@90.69mph

60ft - 2.320
1/4 - 15.415@88.76mph

60ft - 2.423
1/4 - 15.307@92.19mph

60ft - 2.287
1/4 - 15.233@90.37mph

60ft - 2.337
1/4 -15.077@90.18mph

After the first two runs I dropped my front tyre pressures from 33psi to 23psi and the traction felt much better and reflected in the 60ft times. I found that dropping the clutch at 4k rpm gave the most successful launches of the day, but still didn't feel perfect. I must admit I think I should have gone for 5k rpm, but didn't have the bottle and feared for the transmission.

Inferno is in a cup (might be an orange one but not sure)

Low 15's is very good for an unmodded MK 2 cup/trophy. Fuck all in it weight wise (if any difference at all) and the track times are more down to the driver or even conditions on the day than the car. Trophy is only faster due to the drag reducing V6 spoiler and go-faster decals.

I'm only impressed by cars that accelerate to 130mph in under 5 seconds. The only way to get a FWD to do this is push it off a cliff. After you've seen a top-fuel dragster do a quarter mile it makes you cringe when you accidentally spin the wheels at a junction.

Mine is a completely standard 182 cup, must admit I was pleased with the times. Tips for a quick time:

Leave T/C off.
Leave air con off.
Side step the clutch somewhere between 4-5k.
Leave it in 3rd over the line (yes it will be bouncing off the limiter, but it's quicker)

An ECU remap releasing some extra revs and less fuel would result in faster times IMO.

I found if you save the pdfs first and then open them from there as they will not open direct from the website
