Rather than start a new thread I thought I'd drag this one from the archives.
As me and #54 have been together 11 years on the 1st of September (and I want to use my private plate thats already on the clio) I thought I'd get a Trophy orientated reg.
So I've just bought T80PHY, the...
I know of meganes (plus F4RT powered Clio's and Renault fives) with 182 cams in them, ran in both the advanced and retarded positions and it doesn't make much difference. The new megane has both wilder cams and incremental VVT not the basic switch on a 182. I'm sure that will of been the sales...
Hmmm Tempting but having two Turbo Trophy's is being Greedy.
I think if someone swapped the Turbo to a Garrett Turbo it would reduce the amount of torque and increase the longevity and reliability of the gearbox.
The lad who originally done the conversion was messaging me at one point on CS...
On a different note, your trophy is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Personally I wouldn't touch it.
A fine example of this is my little brother bought a fully forged home built R26 megane from a guy who prided himself on being an Aston Martin Technician, to date I've had to redo 90%...
The most I've seen is 83mm but ktec list wossners in an 84mm diameter. Personally I try to keep everything in stock dimensions, makes things easier to replace without machining things.

I agree Jules, anyone can ask any price for anything, but the truth is its unlikely to sell unless some incredibly naive person buys it. We've both been around the Renault scene long enough to see how people get on with forced induction clios, most people bail on them real quick when things...
Personally I think your dreaming, as mentioned your car sounds far from immaculate and the fact that it has a SC strapped to it just screams that a mechanical failure is inevitable. Its like every other modified clio, if someone can't maintain and repair it themselves then they are at the mercy...
Crazy that I've had my Trophy ten years, ordered it as soon as it was announced, but delayed collection till Sep as I needed the 55 reg for my private plate.
I spotted two over the weekend, one heading south on the M42 on Sat night, the other on Sun was sporting a massive dent in the drivers door in Solihull. Was in my vectra shed though so didn't bother waving lol
I'm not holding out much hope on my renewal, last time I paid £510 for my 374bhp Trophy all mods declared.
But since then I've left the RAF and moved back home. Just insured my Vectra CDTI Design £496 :(
Can't wait to see what my quote will be for a 400+ Trophy......
As it stands I've got 9...
Does anyone know of any Trophy's being broken as I need a slam panel.
It hasn't been crashed or anything silly, I cut the vertical part off to mount an Oil Cooler on the front cross member however I'm relocating it to behind the drivers foglamp. As such I would like to replace my chopped up...
Cheers for that lads, luckily it's only the brake light thats smashed but when I was looking at it there is a small paint chip where someone has used a screw driver to lever the brake light out. So I was considering a full spoiler from a T. But at £38 I think I'll just grab the light instea :D...
There not the easiest engine to get power out of. 260-280 is easy-ish but anymore is a bit of a ball ache. Really good chassis though, so planted with zero body roll in the bends :D
Right lads I was tinkering on with the red rocket in the garage this week and had positioned it as close to the up and over garage door as possible so I had plenty of space at the front of the garage and the car.
I then stupidly jacked the car up to change the wheels and opened the garage door...
I actually drove RStunings R26R today but it isn't really a fair comparison as it's running a new turbo set up and 356bhp. The only way I can describe it is like a better built slightly more hardcore trophy. It's definitely a car worth owning :)
Afraid so mate, not that there was anything wrong with my old engine. Basically my trusty DCi gearbox decided it had enough torture so rather than simply fitting another jc5 and hoping for the best, i decided to do a full new build.
I've sold everything from my last set up and am building a...
I'm not sure what he had before, I was having a chat with him when it went to RStuning. Really nice lad.
Can't believe how common the little Trophy has become round here,
As some will know I swapped to a JC5-128 gearbox which is normally found in a clio 1.5DCi 80BHP clio. However this doesn't have the same bolt in differential that the Trophy runs as standard. As such the cir clip gave up so I had to have a new one fitted along with a bead of weld to keep things...
Cheers for the replies, looks as though I'm soon to be the owner of a set of 2118's fitted with new r888's the only problem is there black :( Figure I could possibly keep the 16's for the road and the 15's for track however if I really enjoy the 15's I'll sell the turinis on.
Did someone mention the word turbo?
When the car was at Mallory it was running 341bhp now whilst most people will bang on about "it's too much for a FWD car", it wasn't. Mallory (Hoolio will back me up on this) was sopping wet so in theory this should of made the mighty Trophy an...
Right guys I'm considering swapping my wheels. My Trophy is a second car and if I'm honest it all ways will be.
The plan is to downsize to 15"Alloys, I only ever use the car in the dry so figured I could get away with a set of road legal track tyres, which would also cover the handful of...
