My Trophy (bought this time last year) came from a garage that had bought it from a finance company after it had repossessed the car from its non-paying customer. Fortunately, this meant that I got a good deal at the time. Unfortunately, it meant that the car was missing a few bits and pieces...
AFAIK the purpose of reg 90 is to stop the supply of cheap crappy pads that don't work as an equivalent to OE pads.
Basically, it is relevant in consumer protection leglisation only: i.e. places duties on suppliers and manufacturers. As a consumer you don't need to worry about breaching the...
sorry, i should have made it clearer. atoms always make an appearance at the trackdays I go to, so from my point of view, the brooke would be a bit different.
i'd be keen for one of these: http://www.brookecars.co.uk
different to the usual caterham, atom etc; good reviews; looks cool in my opinion; they're even talking about a 350bhp supercharged version - which (if its anything like the s'charged atom 300) will be sh*it yourself quick.
clearly...
My trophy repeatedly flashed up warning lights on the track, through a long left-hand hairpin. I can't say exactly which lights because I couldn't look at the dash for long enough, all I know is that it only happened in the one corner and one of the lights was a stop light. Come out of the...
wouldn't it be a pain if they mess something up or don't do something and you only notice when you get home?
also remember that the French never go to work! :)
DS2500 seem to work for me - good on the road anyway - they'll be going to the track in the summer.
I bought them as I suffered from fading on the track with some 10k mile OE pads.
It worked out at a similar price (for me anyway (with no VAT!)) to get the ferodos and some brembo HC discs...
mmm... the discussion about GPS was back in August last year guys: can someone tell how much a new OE trophy windscreen should cost? also, is it possible to fit the lightened original 172 cup windscreen? I think I'll start a new thread next time
I thought Renault bought out Alpine in the 70's?.... hence the "Renault-Alpine" cars that culminated in the A610 in the 90's. I think renault had always had a stake/interest of some sort in Alpine, providing engines etc.
I agree that the poll is meaningless in terms of ascertaining the best car or something... what is a good car to one may be a pile of cr*p to another.
That said, some cars you just know are awesome and I certainly don't need to have driven a macca to realise that I want one (badly), and for...
172 cup has a totally different servo as no ABS. Its definitely a much better system (for track use at least). Don't know about normal 172. Either way, I agree that the Trophy's standard brakes are not suited to track driving.
