Happy new year Ed!
Funny you mention a meet. I was chatting to a friend today about a few days touring the Scottish highlands. Not the NC500 but having spent a lot of my life in the highlands I do know of some really good roads.
He unfortunately doesn’t have a Trophy. He has a fully restored...
You’re totally right here Nick. It will make good money purely on the mileage. Given the cheap tyres fitted to a car known for handling (criminal act in my opinion) then you have to wonder where else during the history have they not spent the money where it was needed!
I absolutely second this. I was always an advocate of a low mileage car but I bought my second Trophy on 153k miles and I am certain the history and overall condition is better than some with half that mileage.
Good luck, this is a bargain for someone.
I have now bought a number of magazines from Ed and the condition of them in my opinion is better than described. The packaging for them really was excellent. Thanks again Ed.
If this is still available I will take it please.
If you have any others please let me know.
When I owned #488 I had most magazine features but sadly lost/binned them.
I’ve found a company that can supply a non genuine but as close to as possible. They’ve sent me an exploded diagram of the whole system but can’t give me a photo of the actual part.
I’ll keep you posted if I decide to go ahead and buy it.
I sold my daily Golf R estate around the time I bought my current Trophy. I had use of another car so I wasn’t in a rush to by another daily.
In December I bought a MK5 Golf GT TDI. It’s been a great car. Few bits have needed sorted out (heater blower resistor and rear wiper motor) but other...
I’ve recently had a quote from Lancaster which included an agreed valuation. I’ve yet to start a policy but will certainly have a look at A Plan before I do.
Does anyone know if there any companies affiliated to this owners club?
I've got a 2008 VW Golf GT TDi as my daily while the T is tucked away.
It is the most sensible daily I've had in years, paid £3k for it and it does everything I need it to do in comfort and with great fuel economy.
No problem Claude. I didn’t know about it either until I stumbled across it. I did keep popping in even when I sold my first T and never read anything about it.
Good luck with the sale of your car.
sorry to hijack your post slightly but could you tell me where you got your steering wheel retrimmed and where did you get those mats from?
#189 now safely in Glasgow.
I drove it all the way from Northampton and the car never missed a beat. I’ve been out a few times and I must say it’s great to be back in a Trophy.
I’m happy to report that I have placed a deposit on this car and I can’t wait to get back into a Trophy. I previously owned #488.
I intend for #189 to lead a charmed comfortable life and will only be used in decent weather and to be shown at local car shows!
Thanks guys.
It it will be nearer the end of the summer/start of winter that I will look to buy another so plenty of time to look and I don't mind travelling for the right car.
I've noticed a few tatty examples when looking recently which is unfortunate but expected.
