I've just had the same problem changing rear discs.
I took the old abs rings off the old discs, one of the rings fitted but the other one split whilst it was being persuaded off!
Spent a couple days trying to find somewhere that sold abs rings, then one turned up on ebay for a tenner and fit...
Nice one mr cue :)
Looking at some of the posts on CS you can 'persuade' the abs ring off the old discs with a hammer and screwdriver.
I've got brembo hc discs going onto the front with some oe spec ferodo pads, got a great deal from York motor factors for all the bits and saved a bundle...
Am fitting new discs and pads all round. The front looks straighforward but need some help with the rears.
Ive just ordered some new rear discs and a pair of bearings to go with them. Can the ABS rings from the old discs be taken off and used on the new ones?
Yes i ordered tyres from them couple months ago and wasnt impressed.
Heard nothing for a week and a half so called to see what was going on. Was told my card had expired (it hadnt) so they couldnt process the order. Re-ordered then told a week later the tyres were not available for at least...
Sounds like a bit of a heart stopping moment!
Reminds me of when i had my impreza, about 7 years ago now. Brand new car, 4 days after picking it up i was drving on a road that took you through this wood, on a dark wet winter night. A combination of terrible standard headlights, wet leaves me...
yes me too, my fuel economy is much worse using tesco 99. Possibly something to do with the ethanol content?
I find the power delivery is very smooth and linear with tesco, but lacking in low and mid range torque with V power. Because of this you feel more of a kick at 5k when the car comes...
Anyone any idea how the gearknob comes off, does it simply unscrew?
Ive never really liked the clios plastic gearknob and fancy swapping it for a nice leather momo one or something similar. With it being a lift up reverse the choice of suitable gearknobs is a bit limited - anyone changed theirs?
There are tools available to remove locking wheel nuts, when i used to work in a garage we had a locking wheelnut removal kit.
They didnt work on every type of locking nut but got most of them off without damage to the wheels. Only downside was you needed another set of locking nuts to...
My rear damper was leaking quite badly (see my post from few weeks back)
Ive had the car since june, 55 plate done 7k. The damper was replaced under warranty without a problem.
Not sure what the diagnosis was but the leak seemed to be coming from one of the seals.
Im just intending to replace the dipped beam, i know the bulbs are H1 and H7 but which one is the dipped?
Getting conflicting info, the PIAA website says the dipped is H1 but ive read elsewhere its the H7!
Anyone clear this up for me before i order some bulbs?
Also, do you think it...
Got the car all sorted and back in fine form! Top marks to Drakes of Shiptonthorpe.
Only worry now is the brake disks which have corroded badly. Drakes tried to claim under warranty but my car hasnt done enough miles to qualify for a claim. The car has been stood for a few days recently and...
Update-
One of my mates works at Drakes Renault just outside York so he got one of the technicians to come out to my house and look at the the car last night, so he's checked it out and will be ordering the damper under warranty.
The little fella is booked in for a service on weds so...
Just walked past my trophy in the garage this evening and noticed the drivers side rear damper is covered in oil and a small puddle by it. :(
Anyone else had the same?? If so dod you have any issues claiming under warranty or getting hold of the part?
My car is a 55 plate but has only...
I'll be going down on thursday, Travelling from north yorkshire.
You might spot my trophy with a mini cooper sport 500 and a range rover on Houx annex campsite. :D
