Unfortunate side effect of hard renault paint. They will all do it and a respray is a shame but I think a nessary part of ownership. A coupe friends of mine have TVR's and get the front end resprayed every couple of years due to stone chips. Get some reccomendations for paint shops and dont...
Can only echo above comments, only things I would change on the T are the pads and some decent brake fluid. Its a great car and will be great on a track!
Have a look more closely at that deal as I think you will find its for an evening session only. Very cheap for May. Its a great track...
Thanks all, sorted! No worries Sean :D I'm currently on sportlines and getting no creaking problems. have replaced all bushes and joints when I had the dampers refurbed. I would suggest trying a bit of grease in your top mounts or it could be a steering arm/bottom ball joint.
Hoping it will...
Funny you should mention that too. If you think about the R26.R though, it is nearly 200kgs lighter than the car its based on and has the same amount of suspension travel. This would nessecitate softer suspension, with the 15% weight reduction versus the 10% spring rate reduction, but renault...
I dont claim to be any sort of font. Although I wouldnt take off the springs renault and eibach developed for the sachs dampers and replace them with springs that, in the description say, desiged to be as low as possible and retain ride comfort! Kind of differing ideas. If you wanted a clio and...
AST are good and will be better suited to the track as thier experience with the racecars helps with valving them properly as you say. Although they are very expensive and can be a pain in the arse to contact if you need to.
I would await a price on the nitrons. I had a set of Gaz golds on my...
Well mine is all of those things but I dont want to sell it :D Also my best advice would be to buy on condition and service history (not necessarily renault) and push some of those standard car buying rules to one side.
They will probably be better than A048's in the wet! Lol. They are pricey but there is a guy on CS who has them on a 197 and uses the car daily and a couple track days who has seen 12k out of a set! Which makes them pretty good value I think.
Welcome mate. Car looks tidy!
With regard to tyres people like stiff side walls on the T. This is the main criticism of the new michelins! The AD08's have a stiff sidewall so should be pretty good. Also Dunlops are similar if you can get decent ones and the Hankook V1 I think it is are always...
^^Strange. How long ago were they refurbed?
You could also try changing the inner track rods. The ball joint on them wears just as quickly as the outer one in alot of cases. Always start with the cheapest item and work your way up!
Also to add my T went through the MOT the day before I picked...
Hmmm, him saying the paint work is bang on I would say is optimistic. Just to be clear, is this the 05 plate one? As they had 2 and the 55 plate was the better one.
If it is, when i saw it, it had an aftermarket alarm (beeped when I opened the doors), general body condition was ok but I think...

Says it all here buddy. If you want to save one, then go for it but you WILL spend less buying one that has been cared for.
Edited to say, i'm not sure which one it is but one of them...
Dont know the cars or owners, but the numbers ring a bell so may have been for sale for some time. All I will say is there is plenty around so no need to rush into a decision, take your time and buy on condition. As its your 3rd RS I'm sure you will know what your looking at!
Hi mate, thanks for useful reply. I think your right in that it is at the ground where it kpi offset is measured and it can lead to instability under braking and also instead of the wheel pivoting around its own centre (which is better for tyre wear and direction changes), if it sticks out more...
Hi all,
Just wondering about alloy wheel fitment on Trophy's. Is it correct that the standard fitment on T's is et43 and on 172/182 cups it is et37? This means that the front track is 12mm narrower than other sport clips. I know if you move the wheel further out, your kpi centre line is...
