if you use a jack with a large enough saddle there will be no issue, t's only when the weight is focussed on too small an area that you get crushing problems. If you have a small saddle jack, use a piece of wood to spread the load

a new fuel pressure regulator should solve the first start problem. It's down to fuel pressure dropping off overnight and it takes an extra prime to get pressure up fully
FLOL, hardly. I make about £1 on a thermostat
Simple fact is, if your economy suffers in cold weather from not getting up to temperature properly, then the thermostat isn't working right, and the it's a part that's rarely changed anymore. Not sure why it's disregarded, the technology involved...
have a look at my thread here viewtopic.php?f=26&t=9809
explains the effect an old/tired thermostat has.
Well worth you checking the lambda sensor operation (NOT a fault code check)
you should be hitting close to 40mpg, depending on driving style. less than 35 and you have an issue, unless...
The drop tester applys a resistive load across the battery, similar to the kind of loads the starter motor would give for example. This allows you to see the strength of the battery rather than just a voltage.
Well in the last few weeks the sudden drop in temperatures has caught out a few people
In view of this I thought it worthwhile to highlight a few areas worth paying attention to.
Coolant/anti-freeze - I've seen a number of cars that the anti-freeze concentration has been far too weak, causing...
yes. You have to remember they're a track compound. I tried to talk a customer out of getting them, he disregarded my advice and insisted, then i got an earful when they weren't right for him and squeeled.
The figures I'm using are from lots of calculations done with Jay (of Burpspeed) while he was trying to sort out the issue he had with excessive rear braking after removal of the ABS. He literally couldn't restrict the rear enough to stop the car spinning under braking on track. The temporary...
precisely that, have to make some pretty major changes to make it right again. In honesty you're better off with a cheap 172 and some decent coilovers for a track toy
Piper dont make one, but any replacement for the standard cat will fit. I've normally used either a janspeed decat(which i can supply) or made something up myself (handy with the old welding kit dont you know ;) )
original equipment manufacturer
the "kit" consists of a wire ring gasket, 2 springs, 2 specific bolts, 2 nuts, 2 spring cups and 2 fibre washers. Last time i checked it was £46+vat from renault. I charge £25 inclusive, plus fitting
if you strip out the car which you'll likely do with a track toy, then the sachs setup isn't doing what it was made for. They're actually really nasty on a stripped out car on track
pretty easy to do
Dont bother with the really cheap kits, they dont fit very well and the gasket is inferior quality. Renault are over priced, I use a kit from another OEM that is identical and reasonably priced
