Depends on the car too.
I think an R26R was summat like 15-20secs quicker on the 'ring when running r888s compared to ps2s but a Focus RS was only a second or 2 quicker compared to it's standard tyres which I think are conti 3s like my 200s
Wow!
Glad you lived!! As I wouldn't call it being ok after that.
Nice to see not too many holyier than thou comments.
We have all done something silly behind the wheel but 99% of the time you get away with it!
When selling honesty in the advert goes a long way.
Tell it as it is and there will be no problems. Saying mint and first to see will buy just puts people off. I sold my trophy in 10 days without paying for advertising and I described ever tiny issue.
If you are trading for another renault lookers chester offered me £1000 more than anywhere else.
IMO this forum over estimates the Trophy's value, people ask more for private sales that dealers ask and dealers will offer at least £2k less than the put em up for.
But try private, you may get...
I have had 2 172 Cups and a Trophy and for me the Trophy is so much better.
Thats not to say the 172 Cup isnt great, I'd love to have one back as a track slag.
Re: 2005 Renault Clio Trophy, over 7K spent! Big Spec!
£1k worth of suspension setup by a guy in a shed vs £4k setup by Jean Ragnotti!
It's like going to the fat duck and sending the food back and asking for a burger king.
£8k? For a 182 Cup?
You could get low mile Trophy for that!
I know its not a Trophy but I just thought I'd post! (I have owned one and still love 'em)
Anyway,
This month my car is entered in Vertar's Car Of The Month competition. I would really appreciate your votes, a lot of time went into this car when I got it. The first detail took me approx 14...
I had new cams fitted to my 172 Cup.
Biggest waste of money going!!
A set of Hankook RS2s for a fraction of the price will do loads more to make you go faster.
£4500 will be the glass' guide price.
£5000 from a dealer is about right and they don't care about damper rebuilds either.
Private should get you £6500-7000, I got £7200 for mine on 23k
It should come of very easily.
Clay bar, tar remover, paint clenser, t cut or similar( personally I wunt use that though), maybe even some polish or even wd40!
I don't like Cliosport at all.
The mods are knobheads, I had all my comments removed on a thread about £120 coilover kits! I wasn't swearing or insulting anyone I just made genuine comments!
This is a good forum, it helped me find a trophy and sell it on afterwards!
I have joined clio197.net...
The engine can be a little rough when cold but so can a 182s.
But once it's warm it's an absolute peach, a big improvement over the 182's, it has loads more low down grunt and revs longer and harder too!
Yes standard seats for several reasons.
1. The recaros wear in about 5 mins
2. The standard seats are pretty good
3. I have an 18 month old daughter so access is better with standard
4. Recaros are £950
Last time I did my trophy wheels I used bilberry safe wheel cleaner, clayed, cleansed with zymol hd clense then waxed with zymol concours!! They looked better than brand new!!
Once you do that the next time you clean them is a breeze!
My billberry has run out so I have bought zymol wheel...
But if you sell after 2 years after buying for cash it would cost you the same!
It just means with a pcp you pay the depreciation as a monthly payment!
What would you consider to be good then?
The list price of my car is 18700 and with interest my total payable is less than 16k. Cash price was 15241 so very good IMO!
You either hand the car back, pay £9500(ish) to keep it or hope you have some cash left and sell it on and pay off the finance!
Basically I want enough to pay the deposit on the next new one!
