Change in circumstances means I very reluctantly have to sell my Trophy - I've owned it for almost two years and enjoyed every second.

Cheers for looking, and also - thanks to all forum members for being such a helpful...
Yeah I remember reading on here that the Skoda splitter is practically identical - Fabia VRS splitter is it? Has anyone actually used one? If so I'll definitely go for that option, considering I can only get a genuine one for £140 or something from Wests.
Haggling on a £12 splitter Mark? Haha -...
I think waiting for the wave and being poised to respond is a good shout - acknowledging another driver and having them just ignore you makes you feel kinda sad.
I was in traffic the other day when a 197 going the other way stopped alongside me. I looked over to nod to the driver but he just...
Bit of a random one this, but I'm curious to know how many people on here acknowledge other ClioSport owners when they see them on the road. I only rarely see other hot Clios round my way, but when I do I tend to give a friendly flash or a wave - normally I get one back, but not always...
I didn't bother going back to Ben - to be fair I suppose the rattle's not necessarily due to his work, and it could have come about of its own accord. But when I took the car to be serviced by him, despite me having specifically asked that the kits were used, I'm pretty sure he only changed the...
Hey Mark. No, Wests didn't specifically say what it was. My best guess is that it was one of the tensioners though - as it only happened when the engine was warm, I guess something was a bit loose after everything had heated up and expanded or something. Really not sure.
It's been an expensive...
Resurrecting an old thread here but felt it was important to add that in hindsight I would not recommend having your T serviced at Angelworks - a couple of weeks ago noticed a slight metallic rattle coming from the belts area of the engine on tickover once the engine had warmed up. Diagnosis...
Yeah that's pretty much right - basically all the "5x" numbers have now been used, so for the second half of each year for the next decade "6x" numbers will be used instead. So this year we've gone from "10" to "60"; in March we'll see "11", then this time next year it'll be "61".
The "20" code...
PE2s situation is looking grim - Cambridge Performance Tyres have 50 branches and not one of them has any in stock.
And like what happened when Renaultsport enquired, they checked with Michelin and were told that there's no date for any new stock... not looking good.
Will try calling ATS and...
I'm picking up a pair from Camskill, delivered for £205. Fitting at my local dealer is £12 per tyre, so ~£230 fitted isn't toooo bad.
Considered the Uniroyals but... nah, would rather pay a few extra quid and stick with the tyres Renaultsport chose themselves.
Yeah you would've thought the fast road kit would be the one to go for, but I'm going to stick with OEM discs. I had an email exchange with Tom from JMS Tuning on this, and he was pretty specific.
"Always use OEM discs, the non OEM alternatives have far inferior bearing life" were his exact...
Looks that way - "Pair of..." is used in the description. Bit of a no-brainer then!
I was 99% sure they were the same item but couldn't quite believe how much more K-Tec are charging.
Cheers for the confirmation dude.
I'm just about to buy some new rear brakes (discs and pads) so thought I'd check the usual sites.
Northwest are selling genuine OEM rear discs, with bearings and ABS rings, for £90:

Now maybe I'm making a mistake somewhere, but it looks...
Haha, yeah I thought these cars were meant to be exlusive! One of them would definitely have been me - that's my route to work. Normally cross the roundabout at about 8.30am.
That was probably the greatest concentration of Trophies anywhere in the world at that particular time. I'm proud to...
Greenlight also - renewal price went down this year too which was nice!
Paying £430 fully comp 11,000max 26yo male secure parking etc etc
Jeffo - you're covered in Europe 364 days per year? Which day are you not?! Sod's law that'd be the one day something happens...
Haha oops! Bit of a faux pas there...
I should probably have checked before I wrote that.
If they don't sell I might hold on to them for some track time in the summer in that case.
I'd love to say "spot the deliberate mistake" but, er, yeah. Ahem.
I've just put these on eBay so figured it wouldn't do any harm to post them here too. Not much use for a T as they're four-stud wheels, but I guess there's probably someone here somewhere who might have a use for them.

Yeah that's right - the very same! He didn't try to fleece me either - in fact I ended up paying significantly less than I expected. I guess you can't really judge the quality of someone's work from one experience, but for what it's worth: I'm very happy with his service.
:D
No, this was a black stripped-out one. It looked a fair way off completion - I think it was a project car that had sat on the back burner for a long time. I guess that could be an example of what you were saying about not following things through.
I spoke to him a lot about modding the engine...
Just a quick note to say the service was carried out on Friday. The car feels better than ever - gearshift improved thanks to new fluid and upgraded brakes giving a lot more bite.
Only problem re the brakes was that K-Tec had sent me the braided lines to fit a R5 GT Turbo!
I perhaps...
Doesn't it kind of undermine the credibility of a magazine called "Fast Car" if they feature a 1.2 Clio on the front twice?? This would make more sense on the cover of "Chavved Up But Actually Quite Slow Car"...
Hey Jeffo, which restaurant are you talking about? I stayed in a village called Preixan, a few miles south of Carcassonne, a couple of years ago and had a meal at the restaurant there. Food was sublime. I had foie gras... unethical perhaps, but seriously tasty! =P~
There are pics of a Trophy that's had the "paint correction detail" done on this page:
http://cambridgeautogleam.com/Gallery.aspx
It's had the Trophy logos removed. I know that Marrow's T hasn't got the Trophy vinyls on it anymore as they were removed by the previous owner - there can't be...
Cheers for that, much appreciated. I thought it was a good price too, but apparently the brakes etc should only take 90 minutes to fit, with a labour rate of £50p/h. Ben from Angelworks came across as a really sound guy on the phone as well - fingers crossed the cost won't go much higher than...
