Not sure if Danny is talking about the stock Trophy set up, but when i ran my old fully stripped out trophy with MF springs and koni's on the rear, it was not unbalanced at all, in fact for a car running a fixed ride height it was pretty good.
But like i say, i wonder if Danny is just talking...
Re: 2005 Renault Clio Trophy, over 7K spent! Big Spec!
The Trophy doesn't come with 4k of dampers, the rears are similar if not identical to the one fitted to other 1*2's albeit with a different part no, the fronts are the exception, the thicker piston allows for greater control and the...
I've got one from the group buy up for sale, it's never been fitted and as it say's, was just under £600
Would take £450 if anyone's interested.
Must be collected though, may be able to meet up if that helps
I'm off to Swindon on Saturday next week and Oulton Park on the 27th. Failing...
Not sure on a direct comparison with the Sachs as these Ast's were never run on the car, but if i was needing to refurb my sachs dampers at a cost of close to £500, i'd rather sell the sachs for £300-400 unfurb'd and buy a set of these instead, the benefits are greater than with the fixed spring...
If anyone's interested i've got a brand new BTB exhaust up for grabs for only £450, that's £150 less than the group buy over on Cs a few months ago.
It's brand new and has never been fitted.
Chris
A suitable upgrade for the track orientated Trophy owner or just any road driver that wants the extra adjustability these dampers offer.
These are the Sportline II's not the cheaper sportline I's that most people fit, the main difference is the 45mm diameter front piston, enables more precise...
Duffer, it's a really easy track to drive, that was the 1st time i've been to brands and although it's hard to tell on the video, the track was damp as it was on and off showers all day.
For me there's 2 corners which can be taken in 2 ways,
1st is the hairpin, you can either hang it out wide...
Richard, just had a thought
You've just had to adjust your rear bumper to get the exhaust to look right, and you've also got a knock.
Check your exhaust back box hasn't moved, when i 1st bought my Trophy i had the exact same thing, it turned out to be the rear box that had moved...
People seem to be paying a lot to have their dampers done, iirc I paid for £421 inc delivery and Vat, 5 months ago, admittedly i took the dampers off and sent them but that means they're charging £200 to remove and replace, i think i need to go in to business  £200 for an hours work...
Rich, what's the chance of them being able to do the bottom coolant hose without the "t" to the heater matrix? if they can then count me in, not sure on colour though
Cheers
Chris
Not sure i could contribute any pictures towards a "Clio Trophy Calendar" they'd be more at home in a "Vehicle Dismantlers Calendar" but there's some good pictures already posted on here
This is about all i've got :(
Almost 5 Months to the day since i wrote the above, and boy have things changed :D
Fia Int cage made way for a clio cup racer cage (additional door bracing and front strut strengthening added)
Respray in white is still going ahead, all being well the shell will be ready for paint early/mid...
Looks like you was enjoying yourself a bit, ,going into the right hander after the SF staight :D
1st time i've seen that track configuration, it's certainly the worst out of the 3, probably coastal 1st inter 2nd and then that one.
What was with the over taking (on the right!!) A rule for...
Ok, the latest part of Trophy 40 to come up for sale is the Mark Fish Top Mounts, I bought them a few months back of Mat7 on here.
As i'm know going for M3 Adjustable top mounts (includes redesigning the sturt turrets) These are no longer required.
Looking for £255 inc delivery by Ups
IIRC...
The main difference between the 2, is that the Ktec offering has a plug and play wiring loom.
I'm fitting Tb's although i'm using AT direct to head bodies and an ecu supplied by Tour de Force.
overall the cost between all 3 options inc wiring is around 2.5k.
For ease of install the Ktec...
Yeah i'm fancing a bit of sprinting, but i'll no doubt be in the modified class or at worst sports libre, i'll struggle to be competitive in either of those classes as there will be a lot more potent kit out there.
It's more for a bit of fun (to start with  ) and to accompany the...
It depends on Budget and preference, i'm a fan of N/A that's the reason i'm going down the TB route :D
I would imagine a turbo has the potential to increase your bhp figure more, so if that's what your after then a Blown conversion is required.
I'm staying away from a blown conversion due to...
If it could be confrimed what gas is used to pressurise the resevior (probably just air) then you could inflate them once they go soft to rule out depressurisation. (air escaping the unit)
One possible reason for the damper going soft could be the sliding seal that separates the air/gas and...
Anglesey, great track, i really need to get back there now they've fitted the Kerbs
Hopefully catch up with you on track next year (we should be planning a weekend camping visit to Anglesey next year)
Chris
Yeah that's mine :D That was early days though, more has gone since then :D
Wait until i've finished the winter rebuild, there'll be nothing in the car that isn't 100% needed.
Still no idea what it will weigh, but i'd like to break 900kg's, although that could be tricky with the full cage+...
