As above.
I bought my trophy when it was about 18months old and i was the 4th owner, i was a little concerned by this but the reason was plausible and the car was 'as new' so i bought it and never looked back.
It's even things like the 'wiper stalk' conversion that i hate seeing, i know i know it's only a clio!!
So many with 182ff rear benches and things like colour coded dash strips, alcantara door cards, a pillars let alone different wheels, rear suspension, anti roll bars and so on........
Hopefully you're all right, I just seem to keep seeing and hearing of people doing this and that to their T's! Think i'm just worrying that when i come to have the cash and space to get another one there won't be any good standard ones about!
Hi all, been a while since i've been on here as i sold my T over two years ago now, a sad day that was too!
The Trophy has been by far my favourite car, for the year/12k miles i owned it i loved every second and done my best to keep it in perfect condition and it was just that 'perfect...
Pfffft I'll believe that when i see it! Much like the 2012 mk4 clio having 240bhp!!
I think if that car was made it would just ruin the name the original (and only imo) williams has made for itself!
I've got a suction mount for my GoPro, pull in after the cones about 2 seconds to stick it on and off you go, the straights plenty long enough and wide enough to be able to pull to one side and not get in anyones way!
No that was just for the wheels, I think you can get pe2's for them for about £60 if you look about so i think the price is reasonable.
Spank-it, yes they are very much going that way but I wanted a 15inch wheel for my 172 that was a good strong wheel and also looked nice on the car, I looked...
I recently bought some 2118s for my 172 cup, I paid £507 for them direct from speedline so I think thats a reasonable price.
What colour are they out of interest?
I agree.
I find it hard to believe any questions that have been asked are genuine.
Fair enough the OP has only found the site when he's looking to sell it but, I bought mine from a advert on this forum from a guy who only joined to sell it and from doing so he's added added another number to...
 What have you done to my old car?!?!
Hope you're enjoying #322.
The part should be easy enough to find, if not i don't think they're that expensive from Renault.
Gman
The 172 cups have a 95/5 split if i remember correctly and the actuating arm on the load sensing valve is disconnected on the rear axle. It's very common for 172 Cup's to fail the MOT on rear braking force, such an issue in fact VOSA have a note about this on their systems.
Indeed, over on the CS forum this time of year is known as cup culling season due to the amount that get crashed over the winter months.
A lot of track day specific insurance companies also have the 172cup on a list of cars they won't insure!
Absolutely love Rallye's, 106 S2's. 306 Rallye's but the S1 is proper cool!!
Cup insurance is stupid in my opinion, my trophy was about £450 two years ago, after that i paid about £415 for my R26 then i got the Cup and thats £550, been looking at renewal prices and the best so far has been...
Can't remember if these will fit or not but i do know there are two different bolt offsets on the damper (54mm and 60mm iirc). I've got a feeling Sachs are only interchangeable with dampers off of 'cup packed' 182's.
Hopefully someone with a definite answer will be able to answer this for you...
I'd love a original Rallye, trouble is the longer i leave it the harder it'll be to find a good one!!
I've had the Trophy and now i've got a 172 Cup, neither cars will disappoint you i'm sure, in my opinion they are both quite different.
If you're using it for mostly road use i'd go for the...
It's not my cup of tea, however a E39 M5 certainly is, I looked at these before i replaced my Trophy with the R26, I just couldn't bring myself to buy one though, I do reasonable mileage and after working out realistic fuel costs over the month i decided against one:(
Having read that i think you should definitely have a drive of a R26, if your mostly doing long journeys good mpg can be had and they are very spacious compared to a Trophy for passengers and really are a nice place to be.
I know you said you don't want to go to 5 doors but a Megane 225 can be...
When i had my Trophy i test drove a 200 cup, the first thing you notice is how much more solid the 200 is and more refined inside with minimal road noise for a hot hatch, the driving position is very good and it does feel quite nice to be in, as has been said they do sound nice, and do pick up...
Sounds like top mounts to me, my T was exactly the same with poor tyres in the rain, never really worked out why it was worse in the rain though, i guess less grip means it's easier for the wheels to jump as such.
What's this you mention about fitting washers to your 172? I've got a 172 cup and...
Hello and welcome Adam, you certainly won't regret buying a Trophy!
And as for it being #322 I don't think you'd of found a better one, it's certainly been cherished all it's life.
Enjoy...................
