There's been some 'previous' on this subject. http://cliotrophy.co.uk/forum/viewtopic ... ight=#7716. opinions were divide then.... I'm a strong believer in the condensation theory although I also cannot quite square it off with my experiences of repeated 'drop out' on the rear window. Even...

    Disaster

It's great to hear you are OK. Sounds a tough call to write it off. Did the floor pan end up being bucked as well? Cold tyres and diesel are an unforgiving combination. SILKMAN

    The Original Owners Thread

Only owner of #220 here. September 2005 from Crewe and 14.5k under the wheels since. No intention of selling to anyone, ever, for any money (well, maybe not exactly true but there's nothing out there that wets my whistle). An Alfa 159 for the big distances/ family matters helps the love...

Please Don't Be Biased In Your Opinion

Kids in the back? No problem. My two (11 and 9) love it for the excitement and the difference. They would like to see a bit more of the road in front though than two holes. SILKMAN

Forget the best, whats the worst...............

Metro 1.0L Five door Red fading into pink on horizontal surfaces. Not a f&nny magnet by anyone's standard. Couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding. Leaking Hydrolastic suspension created some fun, though, on the corners. SILKMAN

    Trophy meets VX220....

VX. Character in bucket loads. Agreed The sort of character that I failed to appreciate when I took all 4 wheels off it on a tight 90 right in light drizzle. I didn't even get the chance to shape my mouth into the first letter of an "oh-my-god" exclamation before the rear number-plate...

    Who owns this.....

From the after-market rub strip on the front near side and the silver metallic colour (with clearly a Permaguard treament), it's a 1998 VW Polo 1.2. Surely I cannot be the only one to spot it? SILKMAN

    Servicing Intervals?

Thanks nickb L**kers are the shower that took 3 months to specify, source and fit suspension parts to my Vx and then managed to scratch the body and flood the inside while they were at it. However that's a bit like saying all Wetherspoons are pants just because one gives you the wrong change...

    Servicing Intervals?

cheers (serial avatar swapping) stevegunnis. Reno Chester must have the same service personnel selection policy as V**xall who could, at a push, just about recognise the front from the rear of my old Vx Anyone recommend a dealer in the Cheshire/ S. Manc area? SILKMAN

    Servicing Intervals?

GUYS Advice please - I've just been told by a Reno main dealer that the interval for my Trophy is 2 years or 18k miles. I'm @ 12 months and @ 8k miles so was looking to get it done in the next couple of months anyway but was just checking it was not due immediately. Are they talking...

VX220 Turbo (as seen at Abbeville !)

I get your sentiment! A great car and so involving. I got fed up when it was off the road for over 3 months awaiting suspension parts following an "oh my god - here comes the rear" off. My fault but coping with the consequences as an only car proved too much. SILKMAN
