Hi guys
The sad time has come when I'm going to have to sell my Trophy. I don't really want to but I've just bought a Lotus Elise and can't justify owning two cars. My question is, what's it worth? It's an 06 plate, but it's done 102k miles (mostly motorway driving so they've been "kind"...
I don't I'm afraid, with the car misfiring I wanted to keep the driving to a minimum and ended up in a place that knew what they were doing in terms of car electrics, but obviously just used the cheapest parts they could get their hands on. They kept the leads (presumably binned them), but...
Hi
After having some trouble with a misfire, I took my car to a garage and had the whole ignition system changed. It turns out they didn't replace the HT leads like for like and the ones I have now, though working fine, are quite a loose fit. My question is, should I replace these with the...
It's a good article, though I did notice the shell fuel used was shell optimax which I think was 98RON, v-power is 99. That's not to say the tesco fuel still wouldn't outperform it, but the test was conducted in 2006 and 5 years on things may have changed. What's everyone's subjective feelings...
Does anyone know if they're still going? I've tried phoning, emailing, even sending a text. All I'm after is a quote for doing a 72,000 mile service, but no luck so far.
I've tried to buy stuff off them so many times. It's a real shame because they have a good rep amongst people who use them, but trying to join that group is impossible. Maybe they're doing so well they don't need new customers, they've certainly done themselves out of a lot of money from me.
had what sounds like a similar problem and it turned out to be a sensor on the brake pedal. Do you find that the cruise control drops out randomly as well?
k-tec do a fast road brake kit (pads and drilled discs) for less then the price of replacement OEM discs. Worth thinking about...

Don't know if you'd have spotted me, but coming off junction 25 on the M4 heading into Newport. I was heading to Cwmbran on junction 25a and spotted you as you hit the slip road.
Just wondering if anyone's tried these on a Trophy. Found a review of them off the site liked below and one guy said it worked really well for him on a 172. Comments?

i'd wear a face mask as well. don't know if it's a problem with medern brakes but brake dust contains a lot of nasty stuff you don't want to be breathing in.
do u know how to do this? I get this every so often, I've always wondered what it means and I never know what's caused it but it would be useful to know how to do this deliberately
Hi Stevie, cheers for the photo, that was quick, but I'm after a photo of the whole system, or at least from the cat backwards. The best photo I can get just shows the tail pipes and the silencers, but I can't get anything forward of them and can't get the point where the exhaust splits at all...
Hi guys
has anyone got any photos of the standard Trophy exhaust system? Been looking on the net and can't find anything and not been getting great photos myself.
cheers
adam
I've just come across Vortex Exhausts by Torque Exhausts. I'm a bit sceptical about their claims, but I'm not sure either way. Has anyone done this themselves or know anyone who has. It's pretty incredible if true, hence my feeling it's smoke and mirrors.

ps. their web site is...
Does this modification affect the performance of the cat? My only worry with something like this is that in cutting into the cat up to a point where it's diameter is 2.5" you end up removing some of the cells
Since the Trophy has a 200 cell cat as standard, but constricts the diameter down to 2.25" at the exit, would it be possible to modify the standard cat to get a 2.5" system from the manifold back or would this damage the standard cat? I want a 2.5" system but I don't want to pay for a...
Yes, you probably need to remove the heat shield. Angel Works spotted it for me while doing some other work. On my car it was the gearbox selector seal and the drive shaft seals. As an aside, Renault replaced the bonet catch too - I don't know if this is part of a product recall because they...
