Personally if I had lots of money and a decent collection of cars this would make a nice addition.

For anyone else this car is almost irrelevant - you're not going to get a random punter buying it to do track days and 12k a year commuting, nor are you likely to get a genuine and knowledgeable Renaultsport enthusiast - they will either buy a boggo 182 and put seats, dampers and wheels on it saving themselves Trophy tax, or they'll buy a genuine Trophy but likely one that's been driven (and maintained???) and is not wearing tyres that could potentially be 10+ years old.

What do you think, Jason, and is it a car you're genuinely considering buying?

Well said Claude, personally I think it's way too much but again its all about what someone will pay for it.

As more and more are coming up for sale with low miles the prices are just getting high.

I don't think someone would buy it at that and then stick it up for more.

Who know will see..
Good luck to the seller!!

Jason, ive read a few of your posts, the plain truth is, they are selling so they are worth it.

Yes, i get it, are they really worth the sum of their parts? probably not

is a 911r really good value for £800k? probably not.

did you miss the boat on cheap low mileage trophys? yes, so did i and many others...i didnt comment/whine. i just went and bought the best one for sale in my budget and now get a nice warm feeling when these sales bump up the value of mine.

i dunno, private plate might suggest not.

Just the tense in which it's all written, the seller is not the current "owner" it's not personalised enough, plate has gone with car as it's only any good on a Clio, seller trying to squeeze an extra few quid out of plate like the recent T PHY sold by a dealer who sold it as an extra to the car.

Shown interest in this car and asked for the build number so I could check the history on the forum. Guy said he couldn't remember, it was 400-something. So I did a bit of detective work and based on the details he gave me in our phone conversation, I believe it is 459, which is a stolen recovered car. Perhaps why he was reluctant to disclose details? Anyway, just thought I'd give a heads up to anyone interested, it has personally put me off the car.

I also spoke to him to ask about the number and he said his not too sure. It's 400 something and one of the later ones.

He said he will need to check and he will get back to me but yet no reply.

What a shame really.

Hi

I'm new to the forum done list of looking and reading just not signed up. Sat having a coffee at work and thought to look through to see if any new ones for sale. I've rung about the car on Pistonheads. Always wanted a Trophy and this seems to tick all the boxes for me. Hoping to look at it on Sunday but there is another guy going to look Saturday and I'm working. Maybe I should just leave a deposit Had a long chat with the guy last night and he's got 2 of these lucky boy. The car is number 261, maybe his other is 4??.
I did ask if he is on the forum and wasn't aware of it. Looking forward to looking at the 2 of them.

No, if i remember correctly its got 3000 miles on it. I'm near the top of what i want to spend as it is! I asked what else he has got in general chat and a 5 Gt Turbo and a Williams 1 that he said he has had for many years, be nice to see them lined up! Just hope the Saturday guy doesn't buy it.

What a crock of shit.. can't remember the build number. He's a collector of Renault sport cars apparently.. and doesn't know what trophy numbers he is selling.

Considering it's written on the seat and the one in the pics has the build number trophy sticker on the boot.

If he has got two. I would be more concerned that the one with the fancy plates in the advert... is his keeper. Not the one he's punting.

Anyone who sells a car without disclosing the actual plate for a buyer to hpi before driving down is suspect to me.

Guess I shouldn't be passing that on in a forum. I called him left a mesasge and he called me back with all the questions answered I asked no problem. All checked out and everything is 100%. I'm thinking I should leave a deposit subject to viewing on Sunday to try and get first option on it.
