Yeah and I got some man points back for not destroying the torx screws. :eek:

Fingers crossed the exhaust should be sorted on Tuesday and the heat shield secured too. I'm hoping if time allows to change the brake fluid.

I'm not sure what to do with the rear bench, I'm in two minds about just keeping it OEM as the half leather one I bought has a few storage dents in a heatrest and a small cigarette burn on the bench plus the guides for the seat belts have been cut off. I knew about the dents but I collected it in the dark (in Feb) so never spotted the other flaws until I cleaned it last week.
I only paid £20 for it but these small flaws will bug me so I might see if I can get one in good condition and move the one I have on but I doubt I'll get my £20 back. I need to be a bit more streetwise with my purchases via Facebook.

Quick update....

No.422 passed its Mot today with no advisories. :up:

I had the brake fluid changed at Rentec Autocare in Edinburgh on the 9th August and a quick health check. This was preparation for me and 2 friends doing the North Coast 500. Sadly it didn't happen as 1 friend was stuck offshore till the Saturday instead of getting home on the Thursday.

Future plans are a Snappy steering wheel hopefully a wee Christmas present for No.422 and possibly a new exhaust next year.

Quick update.

The Trophy gave me a scare the other month when the EML light flashed for a few minutes then went off. I had the code checked out the following day at Rentec Autocares open day and it registered a misfire.

Anyway it went back in on Friday for further investigation only for it to start misfiring 5mins from Rentec, always wanted a WRX. After about 30mins Barrie informed me a needed a new injector. This meant I had to leave the car over the weekend as it was a holiday weekend.

Picked the car up yesterday after they replaced the injector and also did the tracking, which was out quite a bit. :anguished:

On the way home this happened.

:rage: Well those supposidly stronger exhaust mounts lasted about 6 months!!!

After cleaning the car and adding a layer of Swissvax I stopped for a cheeky bacon and egg roll. Whilst admiring the finish I noticed the exhaust sitting way off. Lucky I had a small metal tube laying in the garage the perfect size to sit inside the mount and have it sit level.

Wishing I had just bought the powerflex inserts now but I should do the job nicely till I replace the exhaust.

Well this afternoon I thought I'd attempt to change both rear exhaust mounts. http://www.autocarparts4u.co.uk/product.php?id_product=26

Well the right mount which looked the worst came off okay after a little bit of resistance however the left mount has defeated me - solid :worried:

I also ordered brakes from George @RTR_parts and they arrived on Wednesday. I was going to attempt to fit them myself but since I want to change the fluid at the same time I'm going to book it in and hopefully get them to do the other mount as well.

Now after reading a few posts I'm tempted to do the sleeve mod on the cat as it's blowing a little. How much as this cost people before?
also will this be an issue when the time comes to buy a stainless exhaust?

Hold the exhaust in the right place with a scissor jack or such like and inject both mounts with black silicone.. Not too stiff as to crack and heat resistant... Leave overnight.. Sorted..

Ah shame! I was going to get these in readiness to get rid of my (inherited) Powerflow exhaust that is held up with old Allegro mounts....! :flushed:
I think I'll go for cheap metal mounts and Powerflex inners instead.

Even with the exhausts of the p&£@ your trophy looks great. Which wax did you use?

I'm not sure which one it was but I'll find out. I helped Chris a Evolve valeting and detailing clean it and it was a new one he had bought but it was expensive stuff. It went on really easily and just rubbed off with a microfibres cloth. It was far easier than the autoglyn stuff I applied to the mini yesterday I was impressed with the end result.

Yeah, I need to decide what design route I want to go. Tempted to go full alcantara just worried about keeping it looking its best. I'll hopefully get it sorted for our 1st year anniversary.

Looks great fella :grinning: Full alcantara would be well nice especially without the thumb grips but if worried about wear go half and half. Winner

Cheers. Yeah it's hard not to copy things, as there is a limited number of things to do and unless you go wild someone has already done it.

Don't go giving more options/decisions to make. They used to say I'm indecisive but now I'm not too sure.

Today #422 and myself were accompanied by my friend in his Lupo Gti on an adventure in the Scottish Borders to make up for not doing the North Coast 500 during the summer.

Some cracking roads. We stopped twice once in Moffat for a lunch then against at St. Mary's Loch for a couple of pics.

Really happy with the Trophy after the 145miles and enough achieved 32mpg with spirited driving. I just wish I had a decent camera.
