Hi all,
So we are all car guys/girls on here right,i would like recommendations for a 'A1 detailer' in the south west.

Ok so i could just google this but i prefer people that come recommended by someone who has used them, seen their work or has a friend/colleague who has used them.
Someone who can do the lot from wet sanding to applying tyre shine.

like i said in the south west say 50 mile radius from bath/bristol what i don't want is a 300 mile drive to get it done and a 300 mile back to get it covered in flys/crap.

cheers,

I don't think it meets your 50 miles radius, but it's an easy drive from Bristol. Tom Taylor-Gibbs at Extreme Gleam Detailing in Droitwich. Tom looks after all my cars with a passion for them like they're his own. http://extremegleamvaleting.co.uk He's got a good FB page too; lots of videos.

He did the Trophy to an exceedingly high standard. Particularly for the price. Wheels off, full attention to detail. He got a business partner in to remove some dings from the roof that had been created by a YTS child with a five tonne rotary polisher (not his). I asked for the headlining not to be removed and they still removed them to a factory finish. I'm a nightmare from hell customer and feel comfortable with the job he does. Super after sales service too. Got some unidentified marks or substance on the car, quick text and Tom has a suggestion for safe removal. Not let me down yet.

He works with everything, from old snotters that are used as dog walking cars that need a spruce before going back at the end of the HP agreement, to Ferrari's and barn-find 205 GTi's. If you take him a Trophy say hi from me.

P.S. he's fully qualified to wet sand and apply all manner of exotic substances including boring old wax. He'll also use the correct Nm to torque wheels up and removes them with rubber headed wrenches. Not much gets past him when it comes to attention to detail. They have an onsite paint oven to cure exotic ceramic finishes too, if wax is too boring.

ABC Detailing (www.abc-detailing.co.uk) is a guy called Andy who owns a racing blue 200. He's often seen at Castle Combe Action Days and the like, and the car is stunning, I simply don't have the vocabulary to describe the depth of shine...

I don't know anyone who has used him professionally but he used to post threads on cliosport.net of cars and bikes he'd worked on and he always came across very well.

So, not a recommendation per se, but perhaps worthy of some research.

Best of luck

I've heard good things about ABC and I believe he will be looking after my Trophy soon...

That said, I can also personally recommend a friend of mine, James, at Ti22 (http://ti22.co.uk/). He's based in Newport. He's not cheap but his work is outstanding. I can't go into detail but he looks after the car collections of various celebs / collectors and puts as much effort into your hot-hatch as he would a collector's La Ferrari. :)

He's also one of the first detailers outside of the US to be certified by the International Detailing Association (whereby he had to undertake written exams and had to have his skills validated whilst physically carrying out various tasks).

Guys thats a perfect response , i love this forum. plenty of choice for me to explore.

I wont be taking a T as im the ex-owner of 098 but will be taking a 2016 vw polo GTI in pearlescent white,so it's more of a refine what's there and protect it for the long term kinda thing.

Cheers
