Im in the market for a campervan and am torn between cheap camper and clio or nice camper as every day vechile.

I cycle to work and back and my clio is doing between 5-10 miles a week unless I go to my gf's at weekend which is 90 miles round trip. Im just not getting use so thinking of selling. However not got a clue on value

+ points

*Ive owned the car since brand new
*41000 miles
*runs and drives great all original bar exhaust
*Scorpion 192 cat back exhaust
*Timing and aux belts done at renault around 30k miles after 8 years
*recent full discs and pads (official renault)
*passed mot every year with a couple of advisories and when it did fail last year was minor things (exhaust had hole/ track rod end)

-points

*Few scuffs and scrapes where a bus caught my car when it was parked up and marks on rear bumper from mountain bike rack
*no splitter (used to catch on parents drive and broke so never replaced)
*Serviced every year by myself so no stamps in book other than first service at 10000 miles so no real proof of service history other than receipts for mobil one oil etc
*small tear in recaro drivers seat on leather from a presstud in my jeans catching it!

Car is as straight as they come in the past 3 years its done roughly 3000 miles pottering round and the odd trip to the seaside. I've seen several cars going for £5500-6000 with more miles, renault even wanted to buy it off me when i went to look at new clios even though i decided not to buy they still wanted it!

How do I value said car if i decide to go posh camper route, i'm very honest seller and would point out any flaws as above in description, not sold a car in about 10 years!

Sounds like it would be worth getting her minted back up and getting rid of the blemishes then!

Good work. I'd been thinking of doing the same but not had the time. Think pricing looks good too

Hi, car seems very good ,low mileage and 1 owner, but the no service history is a big negative in my opinion.

Matters to some people, I just didn't agree with paying 250 when I could use better parts and do it myself

On a different note, your trophy is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Personally I wouldn't touch it.
A fine example of this is my little brother bought a fully forged home built R26 megane from a guy who prided himself on being an Aston Martin Technician, to date I've had to redo 90% of the work to get it running sweet and leak free.

I'm sure your a handy lad with the spanners looking at your MK1 Festa but the truth is no stamps = Less Value

Fair point Steve, some people want mint fully serviced cars and wouldnt trust it such as yourself, some people want one like mine with little use thats not been thrashed is straight and original, mine is no way a minter its a car ive used nearly every day until the past few years and cleaned and polished it when needed but it does have every day battlescars. Technically it should have 3 stamps for services based on 12k service intervals, its got 1 and 1 for the belts done at the renault dealers. The rest oil , spark plug and filter changes arent exactly rocket science.

As for the fiesta its not as much spanners as an angle grinder, a welder and a lot of head scratching. its mid engine rwd with an mr2 turbo lump

I would be a little dubious of the above, good to be used as a rough reference, however I don't imagine these being confirmed sales prices. If these were actual sale prices then yes, absolutely. But each owner might be a bit sentimental/optimistic with their pricing which might have skewed this accuracy.

And I also would look for a car which had been stamped, if not just for myself, but for future (whisper it) resale potential.

I am not sure that you can compare somone who looks after it well to a service level with someone who tried to build a highly modded engine and failed apparently

Apart form a few things ie belts.. Most service stuff is a piece of piss to do and as the MattyK has said if you can prove it all be done then fair play to him. he already said he did the belts at renault, all be it it a little late. Still if it made it to 2013 for a belt and had it then it wont need one till 2018.

TT list is interesting but again must be seen as advertised price/mileage with no followon description of the cars.

Matty, not that i am in the market so dont really have any place to comment but my only suggestion would be to elborate a bit more on the bus aspect if your really wanting to command the top dollar value this car might have.

All the best with your sale

What did said Renault garage offer you / have you asked them?

Obviously it'll be a trade price so lower, but always good to have an easy offer in the pocket & means you don't have to spend time / money / hassle getting the blemishes sorted / advertise / wait / entertain hour-long viewings etc.

Sold both my CTR & S2000 to Honda dealers & negotiated a few hundred up from their initial offers.

If you sort the blemishes, have all the paperwork, good tyres, Sachs done, etc, you should see around £7k, but may have to wait for a buyer who is not put off re: stamps etc.

Glwts if you decide to sell!
