Another Update from Sachs:
To produce new parts for the clio Trophy, we first need an order from Renault because these dampers are exclusively manufacturing for Renault.

If they have sold you Twingo R1 dampers, that could mean that they have decided to offer this solution for the spare parts.

So basically they've not received any orders from Renault to produce more parts. I'll be getting back to Renault UK to see what they have to say......

@Rrfierce
Which Renault dealer did you speak to regarding the dampers being in stock?

turns out he was talking shite. he gave me a price of £993 each, which i presume is for the Twingo R1 dampers. i think i'll be going for some H&Rs.

Better than the quote i got last week, £1400+ EACH! That was after id spoken to Brigitte (customer services manager @ Renault UK) to ask could she explain the parts delay. My local dealer just couldnt believe it after having quoted me just over £600 each 5 weeks before. Needless to say #488 is on a ramp, dampers are at BG. Best part of the £1400 conversation was that they still couldnt say when i'd get them!

Even though Im getting a refurb Ive been on again to Brigitte today because what happens to us all when a refurb just isnt possible anymore? She had no answer & has passed me onto Emma (another manager apparently) who will call tomorrow.

What a piss take!

Same story at Speedline - Renault haven't ordered any Turinis this year (possibly longer) and have run out of stock (even in France)
no plans to order any in the future either...

Just got an email from Colin at West Renault Cambridge (taken over from Tom) after explaining my predicament and he says that he has just called Renault today (presumably in France) and that the new parts are coming in from their supplier on the 27 July and I will get my dampers in August. Heres hoping!!!

I truly believe Renault have no interest in ordering any of these dampers and its all lies and bs to make us go away.

Its just too small in numbers for a manufacturer to bother with, wrong but probably true.

Ok had a call from Renault UK that the parts 8200 514 733 are in stock in the UK but the part 8200 514 734 will come to France from Sachs on the 27 July and will be in the UK in early August. There is a light at the end of tunnel.........assuming that 8200 514 734 are not 77 111 67 414 Twingo R1 items........

Jon, What price are they quoting you now per damper (and is that price from Renault UK or through a dealer)?

Just out of interest. I noticed the adjusters have a grub screw in them. Is this the only thing pinning them?

No. The grub screw locks the top of the adjuster (the nurled red ring) to the shaft. The "pin" is located in a hole drilled through the top of the adjuster and into the main body of the remote reservoir thus locking the adjuster to the body. The grub screws are often glued into place and you should not try to unpin the damper without reading through the thread dealing with it.

italian_job said that Renault Wolverhampton were selling them at £450 each inc VAT, so give them a try. Not sure why the price has gone up, but Tom at West sold them to me at £470 each in April.
