I’ve had problems with my alarm over the past month or so following the fitting of a new tracker. Consiquently resulting in the battery running flat. After fitting a new battery - suspect the alarm problem may have been voltage drop on old battery - the car won’t start. When the key is turned, the engine turns over a few times ( approx 5 ) and then stops.

Can anyone help? Is this a known problem?

Check battety voltage with multimeter. If less than 12.2V battery is flat. If only going flat since tracker fitted, and your alternator is charging the battery ok (check battery voltage is 13.8V or higher with engine running). If that checks out then with a charged battery you need to check current drain with car left as you would when locked up. Multimeter needs to have DC amps setting with 10A option. If you want to check drainage current you need to fit this with positive terminal removed so ammeter is the link between positive battery terminal & the car’s pos. lead that hooks ip to battery. You need to check for higher than normal current. Anything over about 0.05A will drain the battery too fast. This time of year the cold will be making battery faster to lose its charge as well.
If not familiar with multimeter usage just ask [emoji1]
