Hi Trophy forum,

I have searched the archives and found a few bits of information that relate to replacement car batteries. I just wanted to get an up-to-date view from you guys if you don't mind?

Firstly, am I right in thinking the battery size for the trophy is 063? Also, that the Amp Hours should be (ah)48AH? - Is this totally fixed as many after market batteries are near to this figure, but most are not exact - does that matter?

Finally, any brands you guys really rate or would keep well away from? (by this I mean not the obvious low end of the market brands but the ones you have considered and then wish you hadn't!)

Cheers one and all!

063 is the correct battery yes. Just get a Bosch S3, can be picked up cheap enough from the likes of ECP. If you're local to West/South Yorks I can sort one out for you.

Hi Feirny,

Thanks for the response. Good shout on the Bosch battery and thanks for the offer of sorting it out too - very generous mate, appreciate that. No worries I can pick one up tomorrow. Just a bit of information for others.... Renault only offered a standard 1 year warranty on an OEM battery, came in at around £100 inc. VAT. That was from Wolverhampton but you needed to pick it up in person as shipping this type of stuff has security restrictions. Other models were around half that price with a 3,4 and 5 year warranty. Like a said before, just stay away from the entry level brands, think the Bosch recommendation is a good call.
