Fitted the Magnetti Morelli ones today, very slightly longer however can not notice, was careful about how far tailgate was going up as conscious of touching roof. Anyways, did not touch and do the job spot on!

All,

I sent mine back to SGS (they were purchased within a month of me calling them) and they regassed them to 400Nm FOC.

They work a treat now so for future ref, I suggest asking for 400Nm.

This just makes me think SGS should be automatically gassing the the ones they are selling as Trophy specific to 400Nm rather than you having to ask for it or having to send them back.

Agreed. I was posting on the assumption that they will increase them all as others have the same issue. But seeing as they don't specify a pressure on their website - prob worth confirming.

Sorry for bumping but thanks for the heads up on SGS. I live just outside of Derby so visited their trade counter rather than paying postage.

I tried 320Nm but got them to re-gas to 400Nm based on the suggestions here. At 320 the boot lid just "stuck" about 3/4 of the way up and required a manual push. At 400 it rockets up to 3/4 then slowly carries on until it's fully opened. This is still a bit annoying but given I don't often use the boot I figured I'll probably be able to life with it. Is this the same for others?

The SGS staff were very nice and helpful though. They made them up whilst I was waiting, took about five minutes.

Quick bump for this thread as I've just fitted the Magneti Marelli struts - reference GS0670. They are a perfect fit, work brilliantly and look OEM. I got mine from eBay seller euromotofan_com for £26 posted last week although they've now gone up to £55 for some reason.

Can't believe I've been resting the boot on my shoulder for the last year when it's a five minute job!

Listed as 350NM, is that enough? Others with SGS items have returned them and requested 400NM. What's your experience Mr C?

Hi Tim

I've had my MM struts on the car for over a year now. Still working fine.

Given Magneti Marelli's usual ability to produce excellent OEM products, I'd think this aftermarket fix is the one to go for.

Video works perfectly, cheers, and thanks for the comments too. Now to search/wait for a reasonably priced pair.

No problem. Think I must have got lucky last week as £50/pair seems to be the going rate on eBay.

Let me know how you get on Claude because I need some too. SGS regassed seems to be the best option at the moment...?

Magneti Marelli ordered from the eBay trader Benny C linked earlier in the thread.
